New Coventry manager.

What on God's Earth are they thinking?

What a great few days, win away at Cardiff and two of our relegation rivals have Rooney and Lampard

How does Lampard keep getting jobs in the top two divisions?!

Just bizarre really but it should up the Championship's entertainment value a notch.

have to say I do admire Lampard and Rooney for at least having a go when so many players from that generation haven't bothered. He's not very good though, seems a mad appointment for them

Almost as mad as Brum sacking Eustice, who now has Blackburn chasing play off spots ... again!

Fat Frank will get them playing a bit and then you know it will go super wrong.

We also will have to endure the Fat Frank vs Roonys Green Army all on Sky live to get punters to watch that dreck.

zzzzzzzzzz

Yes, agreed. At least they are giving it a go - they only got their original jobs because of their names, of course, but taking jobs in the bottom half of the Championship does prove they want to make it work.

As much as I didn't like Lampard as a player, I find it hard to generate that much hatred as a manager - and I don't think his managerial abilities or record are quite as bad as people make out.

Lampard over Robbins seems nuts. Without a series of young starlets to loan in from the Prem Lampard hasn't really done much anywhere

Tough to judge his management skills really. Derby, Everton and that lot are not exactly well run clubs who are easy to manage.

Coventry have a squad much better than where they're currently sitting. I'll grind my teeth to stumps if Lampard gets hysterical plaudits for getting them to 12th at the end of the season or whatever.

Anything that potentially adds to the category 'three worse teams than us' is a great appointment

I said when this was suggested a few weeks ago, this will only go one way in my opinion, exactly how it went with Rooney/Birmingham last season.

This one might work out for him, but let's face it the track record of top level English footballers succeeding as top level managers and head coaches in the modern game is variable to say the least.

If he fails and he will. He can go back to writing children’s books. 🤦🏼‍♂️

Maybe Nourry's read them and that's what he meant when he said he's been into football for years?!

Will be interesting to see how he does with an average Championship team. Think he will do ok and would expect a few highly rated Chelsea kids to turn up there in January.
