Willock? on 23:36 - Nov 27 with 6037 views | davman | He did it with the oppo when playing for us a number of times. Doesn't really care about the club he plays for; they pay his wages (and the more the better as far as he is concerned) and he'll do his bit on the pitch, but he has mates around the game and he'll catch up with them post game irrespective of the results. Fair enough from me - mates are important and you cannot let the football results rule your mood at the end of the day.

But as mentioned in an earlier post in this thread, the cameras showed, after the final whistle, the hugs and what would appear to be genuine admiration and respect between Willock and MC, which says alot about their relationship.

I am very happy about it though!

That's a poor comment No need to use a Willock thread to dig out Celar after his best game in a QPR shirt. The first goal was pure strikers instinct, a class strike that Clive Allen or Charlie Austin would be proud of. And for his second, how often have you seen a team completely dominate another only to get caught with a sucker punch on the break right at the death?- not a defensive lapse imo. Also Celar took it superbly, real composure and no little skill.

Not sure they ‘let’ Celar score, 2 great finishes. Comment on Derby is odd, totally outplayed us and far worse teams in the division

Been pony since Beale left and now just loos. a bog standard Championship winger who will give a decent performance every 5 games or so. Will see out his Cardiff contract and slowly wind down his career bouncing around Champ and League 1. It's a short career and he's maximising it, but it's a shame considering how good he was

Quite. He’s not a fan and he’s not property. He knows he went backwards in his last two years with us so why not seek a fresh start (and more money) elsewhere. Any one of us who’s left a decent job with nice people for a better deal should think the same. It’s not personal. I actually thought he looked lively and threatening when he came on. I know plenty would see him losing the ball before the second goal as karma, but they were chasing a late equaliser, you have to try something different.
Willock? on 09:59 - Nov 28 with 3858 views | golborne | Appreciate we have 3 key injuries, but he’s the biggest difference between us in H2 last season vs this. His ability to keep us up the pitch when we need to go more direct can’t be underestimated. It moves the whole team up the pitch, and when it’s more urgent he has the ability to go it alone. I really don’t understand the hatchet many on here carry for him. He had a really bad injury that wasn’t being managed properly for a long period, especially during the Beale era. Ultimately, it just prolonged the issues. All this nonsense of calling it in along with the so called glass salter was embarrassing to read. Under Marti’s team they were our best 2, and most important players last season. Hands down. Was gutted we couldn’t work out a deal with him, but we don’t actually know what that deal was, nor whether Cardiff are paying over the league odds for an attacking player with his known ability and stats. Personally, I’ve been secretly hoping he doesn’t settle down there and ends up back here on loan. I’d have him back in a heartbeat

Maybe if you're having a kickabout on Hackney Marshes, but hardly if you're a professional representing the fans who pay said wages. By contrast, look how hurting Cook has been looking in his last couple of interviews. Willock, for all his giftedness, isn't fit (and often literally wasn't) to lace his boots.

I mentioned on one of the other threads, that Celar would have a good game. I wanna see it against Watford. But, while he scored a great first goal out of nothing (which I already identified he could do in previous threads), his link play was actually terrible. We really struggled to get out of our half as he could not hold it up. Playing one up front, that person needs to hold onto the ball so, we can get out of our half.

Yes, Willock is super talented at keeping the ball and driving upfield. He showed he could beat players on either flank to cross the ball. He would go straight into our team as he can do everything Smyth can do but also cross and score. The fact that he lost the ball and then we went up the other end and scored, is really great for us as that means the Cardiff fans will hate him now. And him cuddling Marti at the end, will also be noticed so, they will hate him even more. He will become a boo boy and then possibly we can have him back on a cheap loan if they go down to L1. Teams I see going down is Portsmouth for sure, I thought Derby were dreck but they have 20 pts on the board so, who knows and Cardiff were very poor, but once again that could have been a one off. I also thought Stoke were poor as well. We need to sort out the front 3, and with this defence and goalkeeper, we should be okay. But we need to do that fast. One more win is what we need and then to get all the injured players back. Then, in Jan window, a hold-up player like Frey who also scores goals as a backup for him and one more creative player to play behind Frey as Madsen is not it. These should be loans.

Don’t really blame him to be honest. After the series of injuries robbed him of the electric first step to create space he realised he was never getting back to the top level again so might as well bank as much cash as possible, especially as he’s not going to still be around the game in his mid 30s.
