Ownership of QPR 18:30 - Nov 9 with 8282 viewsTopCat34

I know they "keep us running", but I'm afraid incompetence of this level shouldn't be tolerated especially when ST holders are paying 700+ for the privilege.

There's one long running theme of massive underachievement at QPR in recent years and it's he owners we have. They need to go. They are not fit for purpose and they cannot be trusted to put people in place. If Nourry is sacked is the direction ever going to improve? They've had 10 years to learn how to do it. You think by now you'd have learned something.

I think sacking Marti would be a death knell for this ownership. You can't keep papering over failure.

Completely agree! Need fresh ownership ASAP and a clear out of players.
If we are not careful we will end up like Portsmouth did some years back, when the fans had to re-build the club. League 1 here we come.

Or worse ..Oldham.

It’s a very difficult situation that the people keeping us alive with one hand are killing us slowly with the other . I really fear what happens next as what’s going on now can’t be sustained . It just can’t

well any new owner needs to front our losses per month at over 1m quid. as well as invest in squad, within rules etc

Exactly the cost of getting new owners is massive as has been highlighted by Clive a number of times, they don't grow on trees, we are not going to get new owners with the current state of play of the club, nothing makes the club an attractive proposition.

I totally understand that argument.

I do think, though, that if I was that rich and (hopefully) a good businessman / woman, I wouldn't just anticipate the £1m+ a month a loss as an inevitable fait accompli for many years forward. I would be plotting a way where that is massively reduced and even turned around. And not just basing everything on getting to the Premier League. You know, sustainability.

We're not that unattractive are we? An extremely loyal fan base, a stadium and training ground in West London and currently residing in the 5th largest league in the world or whatever it is.

I'd like owners who aren't just obsessed with the PL but instead have a long-term sustainable plan to keep this community club healthy and strong for many years. Or just have a plan. Any plan.

So if we ‘hound out’ the owners who is going to take over a business that loses huge money every month?
If the owners decide to walk away what does that mean to QPR?
And the suggestion that a new owner would somehow work out a way to turn a profit on QPR is fanciful as well: how many clubs actually make money?

Clearly there are major issues with the recruitment in the summer but if instead of Madsen and Celar we’d bought a 15 goal a season centre forward and instead of loaning Ashby we’d gone for Hayden then things would be different now and we’d all be bemoaning our terrible luck with injuries as the main reason for our bad start to the season. Not sure how the owners can be blamed above Nourry, Belk and Cifuentes for the poor quality of the signings.

They've been consistently useless for 13 long years.

They've taken us from the Premier League to the brink of League 1.

They've allowed us to be overtaken by multiple teams, including Brentford, Bournemouth and Fulham.

They clearly have neither the desire nor acumen to run the club properly and therefore delegate responsibility to people who lack the necessary experience and knowledge.

At what point do you suggest we have had enough of them? 2037?

Unfortunately there are absolutely no buyers.

Surely the ideal outcome is owners sack Nourry and Belk then sell the club.

Works for me.

If, buts and maybes. 15 years of indefensible incompetence means they don't have any good will left.

As for not knowing how the owners can be blamed above Noury, Belk, and MC, that is unbelievable. The owners employed Noury, who has made everything worse.

Get them out as we are dying by a thousand cuts.

Yeah let’s force the owners out and just keep our fingers crossed that things will work out.

Er, isn't that exactly what we do every year, cross our fingers?
As for naivety and stupidity then look no further than our current owners. Mugged off every couple of years by a new charlatan.

We are hardly a "saleable" Item.

When your next at LR walk round the perimeter of the stadium and take a good look at the de·crepit cladding and the leaking rainwater downpipes and you'll probably say this building Is is dire need of expensive renovation. (It Is).

What Idiot Is gonna buy our club FFS, to top It all off the 'Idiot' that wants to buy a 'football club' will get a building survey back and scream out loud when he reads It, he might want to take a quick peek at our league position too, If that don't 'sway' the pratt then nothing will.

Oh by the way London is one of the most expensive cities in the world for construction.

The disgusting wealth and riches of the Premier league have disappeared over the horizon and into the distance, leaving us to our own devices.

A concern here is where we fall now within the 4 major clubs in West London let alone the wider London football landscape and the attractiveness of a club that now can't compete with its 3 nearest neighbours is not much of a prospect.

Well what is YOUR actual plan then? Like the rest of us, shout and boo at them a bit and hope that they sell up to the massive queue of investors waiting as a result of "Project Big Ben"?

Not your problem is it, who takes over, who cares, as long as this lot f off, but don't take their £1m a month or whatever it is with them?

I mean WE hounded Richard Thompson out; can anyone actually believe that we have been ANY BETTER off since he left? Really?

Have an opinion all you want and like me, you are p'd off to the extreme, but if this lot go, what is YOUR Plan B?

It is like others have said on this thread - those that are sustaining this club are also killing it. These owners have utterly disappeared without trace - they literally NEVER turn up at games and are hardly banging the drum. We are actually lucky that they care enough to throw their money at us to keep us solvent. WHEN you get your wish and they f-off, I hope that you can pick up the pieces 'cos I don't see anyone else willing to...

Can we go out yet?

The whole situation at HQ is just plain weird.

We have fabulously wealthy owners who seem content on owning a second tier (possibly third) club and for what reason.

If you were that wealthy you'd want to show of your dolly bird to your business associates, unless mediocrity and debt are the new in thing.

Been convinced for a while now that it's all about the stadium and becoming big time property owners. Their plans haven't worked out and now they're in the last chance saloon, desperately hoping this consultation/ agreement with the council is gonna lead to something. Meantime the club just drifts and drifts because it's not what they're focused on.

Because their valuation is too high.

To make the club an attractive proposition Ruben has to first accept that it is numerous owner mistakes that have resulted in the club bleeding money. No one else is to blame for the ridiculous over-spending in the PL and subsequent FFP fine that this attracted. We're still paying for this excess today. Once the owners understand and accept this, lower the valuation to take into account the operating losses any potential buyer would inherit.

Hoo's admitted he put all his eggs in the new stadium basket, (40,000 seater wasn't it) and as a result he didn't bother to maintain LR Properly.

No new stadium old one in tatters and Hoo's gets promoted upstairs.
