Tactics at the Euro's clearly played a part but I understand he was suffering from back issues so only able to play at 70% (percentage guessed for conversation sake) but a 70% Kane is still better than a 100% a.n.other forward.
It does seem clear though if Kane was to be played at the Euro's at 70% then the team selection should have reflected that in order to help him out so that he played most of his game on/around the edge of the box. How many times did we see him sitting deep almost on the halfway line?
He definitely wasn't right, nor was Bellingham. The Kane of the other night was a world away from what we saw in the Euros, looked 5 years younger.
It’s ridiculous the amount of penalties modern day strikers get to take now.
Kane has taken 26 penalties for England (scoring 22), so a third of his goals have been penalties.
Jimmy Greaves was England’s designated penalty taker for eight years, know how many penalties England were awarded in that time?
NONE!
That works both ways though, back in the 50s the average number of goals per match was much higher too. Go back far enough and the "normal" formation was 2-3-5 so you can see why!

Excellent point. Defending has changed enormously over the years - was much easier to score goals back then. I actually think it's even changed a lot since the 90s. Does anyone else ever look at those great nostalgia videos that dave b does, or those QPR on this day videos on social media? The amount of goals we got with our beloved team of the early 90s that were just awful goalkeeping or terrible defending is amazing (our defending just as bad) - of course goals are scored like that now, but the percentage seems very high back then. Great example is that Steve Bruce goal for Man U v Sheff Wed when Nigel Worthington is just leaning on the post like he's waiting for a bus, making not attempt to defend his goal.
