Toyed with this idea last season. Shall we have a thread to discuss, comment on, cover the rest of the league? A place to discuss other teams’ results, performances, financial implosions, etc?

For example, last night, anyone catch either of the first two games? I didn’t. But somewhat surprised/worried Blackburn scored 4 given how they are meant to struggle. Was it Derby being utter sh*te?

Sounds like Preston are continuing in the same vein of being incredibly dull.

Clive, what do you think? Worth making a sticky? Might reduce the number of threads to manage.

One of the strangest teams I’ve seen for a long time. If you’d told me they won 5-0 tonight I wouldn’t have batted an eyelid. 5 defeats in a row.

I suppose that’s what happens when you sell Latte Lathe and Ben Doak is injured.

Still think there’s a player in there

My ears pricked up when hearing he was having a ruck with Manning on the bench after being subbed….. that’s not going to progress his careeer

Despite the evidence staring you in the face? In addition to his obvious deficiencies on the pitch I always thought there was a bit of over confidence or even arrogance about him. Arguing with Manning just reinforces my opinion that this was a brilliant bit of business by Nourry.

As someone who found yesterday's match incredibly disappointing and frustrating, seeing Luton looking set for League 1 does put it in perspective. Really shocking to see a steroid-boosted relegated team fall off a cliff like that.

Couldn’t get my head around a club in receipt of parachute payments hiring a relatively untried manager who has had a good half of a season in league 1. Looked a bad decision at the time and clearly isn’t working. They’re gone.

Them and Edwards a good reminder that sometimes problems are far deeper/essential than a single manager.

Strange thing about Luton is that it looked like the set up of their club was good as they were improving and then getting promoted - for instance, when Nathan Jones went, they continued to progress under Rob Edwards.

Even in the Premier League they seemed to be doing ok for a while. Maybe they just assumed that all they had to do this season was turn up to get promoted again.

My 2 cents would be that they stopped doing all the things that got them to the premier league. Look at the signings they made 2021-2024 and then look at the players they bought last summer with the prem money.

As we well know, the poisoned chalice of prem recruitment can hurt you for years if you get it wrong.

Well at least it lasted until the 2nd half.

I watched the first half of the Sheff U Leeds game last night. Sheff came flying out the blocks and had a lot of it their way for the first 20 mins before Leeds began to work their way back in.

Missed the 2nd half but wasn't surprised to see Sheff conceded 3 late goals. Last Monday. Sunderland also started well against Leeds, then let them back in, then sat deeper and deeper and finally let 2 late goals in.

I'm looking forward to seeing what Marti can do against Leeds at home in a few weeks. Should be tatsty.

That was a great game last night and always nice to see that look on Chris Wilder's and Jack Robinson's faces at the end.

Hard to say who I dislike more, Lids or Chris Wilder.

Ridiculous how many late goals Lids score, suppose that is why they are where they are.

Surely they can't cock up promotion from here - of course would be hilarious if they did.

It will be interesting to see how he does there. His best run came at Barnsley, but he couldn't replicate that at West Brom or Watford

His glory period at Barnsley coincided with the Covid rules where you could make loads of subs, and he replaced tons of people through the match after they all ran themselves into the ground for 50 min spells

I thought it was pretty impressive to watch tbh, proper 80s Wimbledon, but I can’t see it going down well at Blackburn

If Stoke don't get relegated then it will be a QPR 22/23 level of fortune.

Can't see it myself, but they'll want to be a few points clear going in to the last two games, when they're away at Lids and home to Sheff Utd.

Agree, but more due to the inability of the sides below them. A winner takes all bloodbath on the final day would be lovely.

Pretty kind. Wouldn't fancy that last three games though. Mind you, we said that two years ago.

I think they'll nick 3/4 wins out of that which might be enough, very close this year though as none of the bottom 3 are cut adrift yet
