Toyed with this idea last season. Shall we have a thread to discuss, comment on, cover the rest of the league? A place to discuss other teams’ results, performances, financial implosions, etc?

For example, last night, anyone catch either of the first two games? I didn’t. But somewhat surprised/worried Blackburn scored 4 given how they are meant to struggle. Was it Derby being utter sh*te?

Sounds like Preston are continuing in the same vein of being incredibly dull.

Clive, what do you think? Worth making a sticky? Might reduce the number of threads to manage.

Preston v Burnley 0-0. Which idiot at Sky thought that would be a good game to be their lunchtime ‘Main Event!’? Viewers must’ve been in single figures.

Scotty Parker grimly grinding his way to promotion to the ‘promised land’ before being found out again next season as they get bummed 3 or 4 nil every game and relegated again: I’d hate to be a Burnley supporter.

Haven’t looked at the top of the table much and was surprised to see that for all the fuss about the number of clean sheets Burnley have achieved….they are five points off the automatic promotion places! Parker doing half the job really well.

I really hope Burnley don't go up.

We've played 12 games against the top nine and won one (Blackburn H).
It's only when you start getting to Watford in 10th and Norwich in 12th that you get to teams we've taken 3/4 points off.
Probably an indication of about where we are in the league.
Bottom 6 we've also played 11 times and only lost twice (Hull H, Derby A).

A lot of those games were early in the season. All logic points to we'll finish roughly where we are now which would be a very good season but there is nothing really to fear from the teams above us. I don't look at Bristol City up in 8th and think they are miles better than us.

Last season when we looked cut adrift I thought if we could cut the gap to 3 points or less going into the last month we'd have a good chance, is similar going the other way, if we have a good March and win next week, which is far from certain, we'll be in a pretty healthy position

I should add I don't think we will do it but it's nice to dream and the board has felt a bit negative this week considering we just won 4-0

We were 16 points behind Middlesbrough after they thumped us on November 5th,and now we’re level on points with them, although with a worse GD.That is one hell of a turn round in form.
Whatever happens between here and May will be a lot better than the disaster that we looked to be heading towards.
The next month will be tough, but it will be a lot easier than doing it from 24th place.

Thought Leeds looked a cut above anything else I've seen in the championship this year. Surely they've got to do it this time!? Even might break their Loftus Road curse (hopefully not).
Haven't been hugely impressed with anyone else tbh.
Isidor for Sunderland looks a proper talent though.

Sunderland sat so deep in the second half it was almost inevitable that at least one goal was going to get through.

Reminded me of the 1st half away to Lids in 2023.

Two things come to mind with Burnley (a) Easiest goal of the month competition possible and (b) being a supporter that dropped off to sleep when they scored it.

Huge game tonight: Preston v Millwall.

Hoping for a 0-0, several sendings off and a points deduction for aggravated racial abuse by a player (Preston) and crowd trouble (Millwall).

Failing that I'll settle for any draw.

Poll: QPR to finish 7th or Brentford to drop out of the top 6?

A one goal win for PNE keeps them below us on GD,and keeps the p@keys well away from us.

1-1 with 86 gone currently. Not a terrible result for us if this hold out.

Luton one dodgy offside away from losing that. They're gonna go if they're not careful.
Watford derby away at the weekend on a short turn around, and then after that it's either six pointers or impossible jobs...

Luton v Portsmouth
Burnley v Luton
Cardiff v Luton
Luton v Middlesbrough
Hull v Luton
Luton v Leeds

Plymouth v Cardiff on Saturday too. They’ve got Hull away straight after the cup tie at City too. Feel they need results in those given the home games they have left.

They're not going to stay up unless they can win at least a couple of away games. Their away record is 0-5-12 F6 A40.

I only saw the last 30 minutes, apart from Doughty both sides were pretty rotten. That’s a really strange and disappointing move for Isiah Jones, he looked a real prospect when he first turned out at Middlesbrough.

So….. the fella I know who is a Lootown ST holder said to me a week ago they’d lose on Saturday and absolutely have to beat Plymuff and Watford but he felt they’d beat Plymuff and Watford would delight in doing them.
Oh dear….
Hopefully these next few weeks see further nails in their coffin 🤞

Very dodgy call - didn't see any of the Luton players even appeal for it.

Most of that game was as bad as the first half between us and Oxford - it will be so funny if Luton do go down.

It's all very close, usually there's a clear favourite for bottom by now, but impossible to pick even the most likely bottom three. I don't see Swansea getting into serious trouble so it's between the current bottom seven (and Stoke probably aren't a real contender, regrettably).

Last season, after 33 games, we were still in the bottom three and Birmingham were sitting pretty in 15th with six points more. Sheff Wed were three points behind us.

I can't see a repeat of last year. Surely two or more of the current bottom three will go down?

I think so too but I remember flying back from the US this time last year thinking it absolutely had to be three out of Rotherham, Sheff Wed, us and Huddersfield.

It's amazing how quickly things change. I would not want to be Swansea or Stoke right now.

So I too have a Luton ST mate

He said since Bloomfield they looked better, but he is nervous. And in my mind, they are shocking and will need minimum 2 points per game to survive, Where is that going to come from when they have Leeds, Burnley and Blackburn - 3 of the top 5.

Bloomfield looks like Critchley when he came to us. Just no clue on how to turn it round.

Have to say, the way my mate was so adamant they were going to tear up the championship at the start of the season, I would quite enjoy them dropping

For me, its Luton, Derby and then any one of the bottom 6 - I think Plymouth will escape drawing confidence from their cup run.

I didn't understand their January at all. Their problem is at centre back - too many injuries, leaking too many goals. And yet they spent the month trying to add strikers, of which they've got loads.

They looked crap last night to me.

They do look poor and I’d be worried but any team down there getting two points per game from now (none of them will) is staying up with games to spare.
