In this short existence. Given I live a land of plenty. I’m not oppressed nor am
I impressed and can write shite and talk bollocks. Especially after a litre of Sherry:

What makes your life bearable. Beyond , family, friends and all that. What goes on in your head. On your own. At 3.27 am.

I can honestly say it’s about XTC. Not Rangers, love them that I do.

I woke up the other night and could’ve sworn that Andy Partridge was shaving our dog.

We don’t have a dog.

My simple pleasure is getting to the end without being interrupted.

Being able to summon up almost any piece of recorded music in an instant is an incredible privilege. Listening to it eyes shut half-pissed on headphones is a gift beyond words.

That you pay for eternally.

Buy what you like.

Because most of it is not good.

Know what you like

A man is like a rusty wheel, on a rusty cart
He sings his song
As he rattles along
And then he falls apart

Waking up in the night and finding my cats asleep on the bed with me.

Being able to afford to give a homeless person a meal or get them into a shelter.

Breaking a Daim bar into lots of pieces, eating the chocolate off each piece and then crunching on the almond caramel bit in the middle.

Never knowingly right.

I'd worry more if it was Alan and not Andy Partridge.

Having a giggle

Question - has Gareth Southgate ever had the experience of a fit of the giggles.

Has he ever done anything so childish, that he has completely convulsed with the most humongous belly laugh that has drowned out the sound of his mates, saying good one gaz, me old mucker !!!!!!!!!!!!

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Thirsty, I can go to a tap and drink clean water as opposed to not having the option or, having to schlep miles for a drop or, only having dirty water to drink.

It's dark, it's cold or hot, whereupon I can flick a switch and voila, it's not! Living where I do, I have truly fresh air to breath.

Having lived/been in many places around the world where such things either don't exist or, are beyond many people, I stopped treating water, power, and air as my right years ago, and view them as luxuries I'm blessed to enjoy.

Fresh milk. I know many people think the cruelty involved in animal husbandry makes it immoral, but for the rest of us…it requires a specially bred species, land managed for centuries to feed them, specialised buildings and machinery, and swift, hygienic refrigerated transportation so that the vast majority of people in this country have access to it in walking distance 24 hours a day, for the same price as sugary water. Lucky for us.

Watching the bees go about their busy lives in my garden, going from flower to flower on a warm summers day, while I sip an ice cold beer in a quiet moment of solitude.

My swing seat in the garden. Get me out there with a guitar and I'm happy for hours.

A good night's sleep.

I can sleep anywhere but will regularly only get 5 or 6 hours when I'm stressed, busy, etc. When I'm in good health, mentally and physically a solid 10+ hours can make me feel amazing.

It's always noisiest at the shallow end

Peace and quiet.
My girls asked me what I wanted for Father’s Day and the answer was for them to take Mrs Woking away for the day leaving me on my own.
It was fantastic and such a rare treat

Amen to that! Life is so loud! I adore my 3 children but sometimes I miss solitude and quiet! This is a really lovely thread, I've really enjoyed it

A new love affair with a new piece of music.

It's only noise, almost formulaic, so how is it that I can be floored so often by so many different tunes?

I hope it never changes.
