Man, this is tricky. I've had a few favourite bands over the years but they all eventually became less good than they once were.
I'll go with The Cure despite them not having a good album since 93.

great track and great band.... your right, too many to choose from.
but if someone asked you for your favourite football team, i bet i know who you'd pick.
good on you.
That's easy. I only like one team and hate all the others to varying degrees. I hate big teams, small teams and miscellaneous teams. Fking team c*nts.
You Rs!

New Pornographers - Mutiny, I Promised You. Might have gone with Sing Me Spanish Techno, but the video here is Kristen Schaal's Penelope, Princess of Pets and makes me laugh every viewing (despite having cost all of £2.30 to make)

Well it probably changes every week, for the last few weeks been musically reliving my teenage years with my brother's favorite band, Grand Funk, they put Flint Michigan on the map. So today it is this gem, will, undoubtedly be something different next week. Enjoy!

Hard to say I have a "favourite band" as different groups suit different moods and life situations BUT this band are a group who's work I more or less love.
This is one song, which sends me back to my teen hood wandering around council estates in Hayes, seeing the people in the song, experiences the situation of the song in my life to a degree.

In my top 10 too. Mel Schacher’s bass tone is off the scale . Everything I wanted my tone to be yet failed miserably

Trick question; I couldn't even pick a favourite genre, let alone a favourite artist. Everything I listen to is my favourite or I wouldn't listen to it.
The grass is always greener.

Ladies, Gentlemen and dogs pretending to be people, I give you Les Claypool, Larry 'Ler' Lalonde and Tim 'Herb' Alexander - the one, the only, Primus.
Claypool is a fcuking genius. A bona fide, modern day idiot savant with moondust on his fingers and dodgy wiring upstairs. I love that man. Latest album/ EP is called Conspiranoid and it is glorious but 'Jerry' just lights up my brain. 'Dog will hunt...!'
'What do we want? We don't know! When do we want it? Now!'

Strong R's connection
I was also going to post Elvis Costello as my favourite artist. You're a man of taste, Izlington Hoop. The song you chose was number 14 on this list I did a few years ago.
So seeing as Elvis has already been done, here's another of my favourite groups. Just like Elvis Costello, the very distinctive vocal style won't be for everyone, but I've followed Tindersticks since the very first record. This live version of Show Me Everything is probably my favourite song of theirs.

I bet no one listens to this, still...
Love Pat Metheny. 'The Way Up' is unbelievable. You can listen to it time and time again and you will hear something new every time. Favourite Pat Metheny track: James.
