'''As a Leeds fan, I have to say how annoying it is that so many teams turn into Barcelona when they play us after being mediocre against other teams. It's a form of cheating really; if they can play like that against Leeds, why can't they play like that all the time?''' Thing is, football (or any sport) is not like that.
club on 11:25 - Apr 29 with 1233 views | daveB | I think we've been playing well since January, weren't far off that performance against West Brom either
club on 11:45 - Apr 29 with 1178 views | Pdog | I often think this yet there are so many variables / moving pieces and elements of chance at play. Of course those players would have wanted to play like that in every game, just like Leeds did not intentionally turn-up and play like they just met for the first 30mins. Was it because we were that good on the day or they were a bit shit, probably a bit of both. If Rodon doesn't stick his chest out keeper saves it, if Sommerville tucks that in at the back post its a different game. So many factors can change the course of the game, we just kept doing more of the right thing than they did. Home support, 2 days extra rest, mid game momentum, missed chances, so many random things that on this occasion we took advantage of and turned into a great night. [Post edited 29 Apr 11:58]
