Up and running at last..

Disappointed Lancs are restricted in how many games Nathan Lyon can play for us

Looks like our two senior bowlers will both be limited

In other news, Sam Northeast of Glamorgan hit 335no at Lord's, the highest score ever made on that historic ground

Big ton by Jennings sees Lancs building a lead at Southampton. Could be interesting tomorrow if the pitch starts to favour spin. It's been pretty docile so far but with Lyons playing, anything could happen

Doesn't look like a good environment to be playing in, with top players limited in appearances, others taken out to accommodate them. No incentive to knuckle down

Haseeb Hameed puts his county of origin to the sword with 247no, giving Notts a first innings lead of 172 at Trent Bridge. A draw the likeliest outcome, but you never know with Lancs...

In other news, Jimmy Anderson announces his retirement from test cricket (possibly first class cricket) after the first test of the summer:

At least we avoided an innings defeat, thanks to a maiden ton from rookie keeper Matthew Hurst

Firmly entrenching ourselves at the bottom of the league

Lancashire are changing from a cricket club whose ground staged the odd gig to a concert venue with a cricket club bolted onto the side.
Groaning under the weight of debt and the playing side is suffering as a result.

Lancashire have just announced an operating profit of £5.3 million “after exceptional items” but outstanding loans still stand at £32 million.

Finally a decent day if not brilliant. Really need to secure a few wins, although watch stokes hit 150 runs tomorrow!!!

Regarding the below, as long as profits after tax and all 1 off items are significantly positive and cover at least the interest payments, I don't think that loan is unmanageable

just hope we can put 2 decent innings together

Don't think we've managed that at all this season so far

Well we did, thanks to a century in each innings by Jennings

However, at lunch, Durham stand at 284-3 (with Ben Stokes due in next). If they chase down the 475 required, it'd be their record run chase

Won by 60 runs

Remain bottom of the table, but anything less than victory would've left them stranded

at 313 for 3 it was certainly on the cards for a defeat. Last game before the break is Warwickshire at home, and they haven't won a game. It would be good to double up wins & could move us up 2 or 3 places

Another good win (innings & 83) down in Canterbury to maintain the uptick in form from before the break

Takes us from a relegation spot to 4th place (pending other results) with some momentum now. Not sure why we started the season so poorly

Louis Kimber of Leics hit 43 runs off one over this morning...

...and he's just reached his double century with his 17th six. Fact checkers think it may be the fastest (time-wise) double century in championship history; it came up in the shortest number of balls, exactly 100

At one point, Leics were 175/7 chasing 464 to win; they're currently 413/7

Edit: Kimber last man out on 243, just 19 runs short of victory

Most runs in a championship over
Fastest double ton (100 balls)
Most sixes in an innings, 21 (plus 20 fours)
