I agree, we're entirely reliant on that. But given that we're now operating with the DOF, CEO and chairman all as one person. We've got next to no money. We've got a toxic environment. We're bottom of the Championship.
How are we identifying the targets, and what calibre, quality and character of player is going to want to come here this January?
Fraid so.
We're only getting out of this if the players decide to pull their fingers out. But no chance of that. Clearly they're quite happy to have relegation to League One on their CV.

Your right of course but thats the only hope i can cling to really that they make 3/4 very good signings this month, I don't think they'll do it but thats the only hope we have

What a sad state of affairs we find ourselves in. I too am amazed at the number of people still turning up to games, it astounds me. What words can you find to describe what has / is happening. Clive sums it up far better than I can as always. It seems we are saddled with a few players who are trying, some who coast through games, some who clearly don,t give a toss and as has been said before that is what the manager is up against. So although I think Marti has made the odd mistake with selection and substitutes he really is up against it with this lot. Take as an example the non improvement of just one player, Lyndon Dykes. If 5 different managers / coaches cannot get some improvement out of him it leaves you with one conclusion, he aint good enough. He of course is just one of the problems but I use him as an example of maybe 4 or 5 other players who we have seen no progression from under various managers. Add to that the undeniable sick note culture of some of the players and it all adds up to where we are now. Undoubtedly the people at the top have contributed to this situation and are ultimatley responsible but the lack of any feedback or communication to the fans about our current plight can lead me to only assume they are either totally disinterested or cowards , more likely both. Going to the games now is a strange mixture of emotions, hope ( dwindling ) , expectation ( dwindling ) despair ( increasing ) , frustration ( increasing ) and finally resignation to our impending fate also increasing sadly. And finally sadness at what has happened to our club. I look around me in the stand at my fellow season ticket holders ( masochists ) and see people who like me have been hollowed out by the last few years. Like many though I will still keep going and buying the season ticket because it is in my blood and I can,t explain it to anyone why I keep doing it even myself. As they say, it is the hope that kills you and if that disappears then the club are in real trouble.

Seriously, it's bleak. As has already been mentioned, what makes it worse are those occasional glimpse of what could be.
On a separate note, I feel taunted by Josh Bowler. He seems to regularly reappear and put in energetic performances against us that I could only dream of from one of our players.

I'd counter players did improve under Warburton's / Eustace's tenure,
Willock and Dickie looked poor players on arrival but improved with coaching,
Chair and Dykes improved as the team was set-up to play to their strengths (LWB / Wallace in the case of Chair and two No 10's playing off Dykes)
Warburton took punts on players from League 1 that did'nt work out (Dozzell and Bonne most noticeable) and was forced to go back into the experienced pro / loan market (SJ, Austin & Gray) and the finances, culture and ultimately results deteriorated and we're now where we are.

If you’ve been affected by any of the issues in today’s broadcast, the Samaritans is a registered charity aimed at providing support to anyone in emotional distress. Their free and confidential phoneline is available 24-hours a day on 116 123........... genius summary of my feelings during my 70 mile drive home; having chosen W12 over Cheltenham.
for the last few seasons we have specialised in dialing it in and losing to clubs that we REALLY NEED TO BEAT & then play OK in games that we were always destined to lose anyway.
I can't recall us winning a true 'six pointer' ever........ even going back to the Wigan match in the top flight!

Willock and Chair were good players when they got here and may have improved marginally but the Dykes you refer to must be a different one to the player I have been watching !

He looked ok when there wasn't any crowds and Austin was mentoring him but bar that he's been a terrible player

Until there is a complete clear out of most everyone at QPR we will continue to decline and to be honest I we could easily end up in League 2 within 18 months.
We need a new owner. Ruben is not hands on and is too nice. He has accepted and continues to accept mediocrity and failure from management, trainers and players. The culture of the club stems down from the top . The ongoing acceptance of repeated failure and unacceptable performances is killing the club.
We need a root and branch clear out of the various management teams / trainers / players . Lots of heads need to roll. But I cannot see Ruben doing that.
Ideally we need to keep Marti to start a rebuild and that’s about it.
Maybe the club needs relegation to be the catalyst for the massive changes needed because they ain’t gonna happen with the current Regime and in the Championship.
After over 55 years of supporting QPR, I am now almost at the point of not caring. My team is almost lost to me. This club is slowly disintegrating.

Do all of those three things if you like, it's not going to make a difference.
The culture at the club is rotten, the standards around the place don't exist.
The team is not very good to start with and their collective attitude towards being here and playing for QPR is disgusting.
Once again we've got players going down with "calf knock, nothing too serious, outside chance for next week" and disappearing for months.
We've got others, Richards, disappearing without even that excuse.
I said it last week and I'll keep saying it, the threads on here about poor substitutions, poor team selections, poor post match interviews are nuts. Two years, five managers, no change. This is not a problem that can be solved by playing somebody else in the centre of midfield or having somebody else take the corners.
I know this'll fall on deaf ears. Another couple of games and it'll be "should have got Warnock in when we had the chance, do it now before it's too late".
Indeed. Additionally, because the squad is so thin and our own player development so ineffective, players know that if they get injured or suspended, there is almost zero change of their replacements keeping them out of the team when they are ready to return. There's no competition for places. They'll waltz straight back into the starting eleven.
The state of us, it's heart-breaking
PS: Great report, it should be turned into wallpaper and used to redecorate the home dressing room. Grrr
"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

"about as welcome as a Young Conservatives float at the Notting Hill Carnival"
Thank you Clive for your magnificent humorous writing it really helps get us through a very depressing period supporting our club.
Neil Critchley was spot on and Gareth for all his faults tried to install some mental strength into these players but they really are pathetic wimps.
As I said before we are down and the plan for the rebuild in League 1 should start now not pissing more money up the wall signing expensive loan players who will join the rot and just go through the motions.
Still can't believe how well the attendances have held up. It really is fantastic support from our fans.
We were saying all this when we were getting battered in the prem and staring at relegation. Consolidation in the championship and start again was the plan. What makes you think when we drop to L1, we are suddenly going to become a well organised football club, buy the right players, coach and improve players, set a good hardworking ethic within the players ? If these owners stay we will be shit in L1 with even worse players than before. Our scouting and recruitment and coaching staff needs a massive overhaul . From top to bottom . "I Say We Take Off.
