I wouldn't cry over any of our players leaving, being honest.
Our best players, imo:
1) JCS - injury/fitness worries
2) Chair - been great for us, but a move might suit us and him
3) Hayden - on loan, not out of contract either
4) Cook - very good centre-back, but will we playing with such a low defensive line next year?
5) Anderson - been here three months and still can't do 90 minutes regularly
etc
Except...Except that the problem is replacing them and, as we know, our recruitment has been part of the reason we were in a relegation scrap until the 26th April. |  |

Dunne - I believe hes got an option for a further year, which I expect we will trigger, ideally tie him down for another 2 or 3 years.
Willock - Not sure if he stays or not, depends on what we can offer in wages, 50:50 on whether he stays or not.
Dozzell - definite get rid, on a big wage already here and probably its for the best he moves on.
Armstrong - again, he has an option for a further year, trigger it, and use that time to extend his deal by 2 or 3 years.
Begovic - Think he goes, rumours are that Celtic want him.
Kakay - definitely gone.
Adomah - heard hes retiring, would happily keep him around the club in the academy.
Archer - I would get rid, we already have Mahoney/Walsh who I think are ready made to replace him.
Dixon Bonner - Personally would extend and look to loan out, think he needs regular football and im not sure we can offer it right now.
Duke McKenna - He will go.
Drewe - definitely gone.
That would mean overall we would lose 7 or 8 this summer. |  | | |

Armstrong I went back and checked and when he last signed we said there was "an option on the club's side for a further year" which is next season so you'd think we'd surely take that up. |  | | |

I feared that was the case - the club were probably running up against FFP so closely in Jan that the only way to bring in recruits was by loading the spend into the following season. As it turned out we probably would have stayed up without him but in fairness to the club that was very far from obvious in Jan with just Dykes up front and as you rightly said in another thread he is one of the worst strikers in our division. Not convinced with fitness and consistency considerations Frey will be much more than an impact sub next season. | | | |
