Does he fancy coming here?

Might explain why the management duo haven't had their contracts renewed/extended.

Disrespected by Coleman and Bell, no wonder he's throwing in the towel. The alternative would have been to sack them both but it seems he's had enough of it all.

Accy’s last set of accounts at June 2022 showed they were indebted to Holt’s group of Companies to the tune of £4m.

The ground is value at £7m and they finished 12th in League 1 that season.

He’s clearly been subsidising them and now Coleman and Bell fancy another contact, which implies more subsidy.

Looks like he's putting around 90k a month to keep them financially stable

Any potential Dale investors would be looking at this and giving them further pause for thought

Accy have had relative success, given where they came from and whilst Coleman/Bell just weren't right for Dale there's no doubt that they're a fit for Accy. If the duo are holding out for better terms with a renewed contract, Holt's in a real bind. Either he writes off his existing investment or he agrees to their demands

Anyone looking at Dale would likely find themselves having to put similar amounts in... for what? Glory? Masochistic abuse? There's only one reason i can think of, and that's to gain access to our "facilities" for purposes that would see them reap a "dividend" at some point. As others have said, might as well wait for administration...

If Holt bolts, we'll have local competition for that type of "investment"

Except for the small matter of £4m of debt held by Holt's Company.
You could also, argue that Accrington have probably reached their maximum potential given the size of the town and the relative success of nearby Blackburn and Burnley and thats not to say we are much better off but I would think we have more potential for growth if anyone had a decent, well funded, long term plan to tap into it.
In some respects we are not looking for someone,to pump in a couple of millions a year, we are, or at least ought to be, looking for someone prepared to finance a period,of organic, sustainable growth with new channels of income providing long term financial security. Splurging cash chasing unattainable dreams always ends in disaster because eventually the money runs out and the club is left with the ruins.

In Accy’s specific situation, Holt doesn’t have to rush or offer Coleman and Bell anything, particularly when he’s bankrolling their deficit on a monthly basis.

Moreover, Accy have just become one of a number of clubs already “for sale” , “seeking investment” or new off field management to take a club forward.

Newport have just done a deal with Huw Jenkins and most of League 2 is, in some form, purchasable for the right price.

To your point, unless you’re a fan of the club concerned there is no link or logic to funding a loss making football club.

Lets Buy it close it down sell the ground for houses and change the clubs name and ground to Rochdale. (Milton Keynes mark 2) that's one way to get back in the football league.

Kieran Maguire's Price of Football podcast has an interview with Andy Holt on the feed now - he cites multiple issues and sounds like he's fallen out of love with the club (and the spending) but it certainly seems like "John and Jimmy" might have put the nail in the coffin for him.

There's a comment about agents telling him players didn't want to come back and play again after injuries which I thought was very telling.

Sounds like there is a lot of dirty laundry being aired publicly, possibly on both sides. Thats not good, especially with the on field performances being good (until last saturday).

Morecambe also doing good despite their off field challenges.
