Chris Willock & Substitutions 20:51 - Sep 30 with 1500 viewsnumptydumpty

I have been supporting Willock in his comeback from injury and was one of only a few that had felt that he was coming back into some form, and had supported him, to which there were several who shouted me down.

Today, starts off looking promising, but the longer the game went on, it was his pace that concerned me. Everything was done at snails pace levels.

Chair likes having Willock around but the link ups definitely flatter to deceive.

He just looks like his football brain has gone walkabout.

Today wasnt great.

But with the subs, ok one was enforced but only change made was Armstrong for Willock.

There were options on the bench but worryingly ignored also

I only generally go to home games - seen all the home games in the league bar the Swansea game and saw us lose in the cup also.

Its the lack of home goals which screams loud.

If we lose to Leeds and then again on saturday, I think Ainsworth is gone and i fear that the feelers are out for his replacement already.

He will I think be back at wycombe by the end of this season !!!

That was Willock's big chance today, and he fluffed it.

Gaz took a risk that we could press them high and win the ball back; this would avoid us being outnumbered in midfield. In the first half, it nearly worked, and in the second half, it did not. Field and Dozzel were outnumbered, and Willock kept giving the ball away. You can see the difference in the way Chair kept the ball and Willock did not.

Armstong came on and started to press them high up the pitch with Dykes and it started to work again, but by then, it was too late. Today, Armstrong should have had two assists with the Pen and Goal. He also showed why he's better than Willock with actually better Wing play.

I doubt we shall see Willock again for a long while after that performance; expect Armstrong to start now. If Willock carries on like that, I doubt he will even get a Jan move. Who would want him? Only a L1 or team in the bottom 3 with us. Neither of which he wants to go to. Even he returns to amazing Willock or curtains for him I think. Its not looking good for the player let alone the club.

Kakay was also poor today. He gave the ball away too much, and a silly freekick for their first goal and an unlucky deflection for the second. But he was also poor going forward and did not link at all with Smyth. Let's hope it was a one-off bad game and not a slippery slope.

Dozzell was too far back and could not get up and down the pitch again. He should only play AMC, he cannot do the DMC as well as Colback and Field and he cannot get up the pitch quick enough to support if he plays DMC. AMC he has potential with his cute passing (which we don't see enough of as he's usually playing too deep as a DMC) and he may have a shot on him as well. But he cannot play DMC as he does not get up the pitch fast enough. Too often Dykes was isolated in the middle. Remember how Amos scored goals just by getting into the box more often? Thats what Dozzell needs to do, he's too far back.

zzzzzzzzzz

Cov quickly closed and smothered him first half, presumably because they feared the player he used to be
Unfortunately for whatever reasons he isn't the threat he should be, and was pretty much a passenger after the first 20mins
Can't see a place for him with Colback back

Pretty much agree with the gist of that. As has been pointed out, Colback's absence today was a big miss, but too many were off it as individuals, including Field. The set-up was wrong, and so it unravelled in the 2nd half, aided signficantly by that nonce of a ref.

Poll: What should the club do now (assuming no imminent change of owners)?
