My and an old pal are finally about to do our long-planned 3 week road trip from Nashville down to New Orleans. Have created several playlists but will produce a LFW one too.
So if you feel so inclined please feel free to suggest...long road driving classics.

Last orders....will 'curate' tomorrow and share final version here after. Thank you, you've all been fab.
Forgetting about the music for a second BlackCrowe be careful in NO its a bit rough in places.Like most US cities keep your eyes and ears open and dont be wandering around side streets /backstreets later in the night. A friend of mine is a world traveller and he never feels safe in NO for some unexplained reason . Enjoy the music and food

Thanks Clare, i've heard this from elsewhere too, certainly about walking back to accomodation at the end of a full-on night. Same for Memphis apparently.
Mister mister - broken wings Bruce Springsteen - streets of Philadelphia Huey Lewis and the news - power of love Glen Frey- the heat is on Katrina and the waves - walking on sunshine.
All banging all American tunes.

The doorman at the hotel we were in was as good as gold and his advice on 'to do' and 'not to do or where to go' was brilliant. Don't do any unlit streets (obviously), make sure you do the French Quarter (Bourbon Street) It's heaving with live music and bars eateries etcetera but late at night It gets bloody wild/mental.
I regret we didn't do the river boats.
I wouldn't worry tbh no need, just use common sense I thought Sixth Street Austin, Texas was worse a good craic but mental at weekends.
My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.

I did Austin 6th Street in June 1989 before anyone in England had even heard of it! Took ages to get into each bar as I had to use my passport as proof of age (21 was the age limit) and they were fascinated I was English and kept asking questions. I just wanted a freakin’ drink!

Dragline is such a good album. I probably would have gone with Sleeping Bag, but wouldn't argue with your choice
Sleeping Bag and Jessie are the stand outs but this track has a lyric about driving a truck.
Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. He runs like a cheetah, his crosses couldn't be sweeter. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore.

Not a carping criticism but Hood of a car has a different meaning the good ole US of A. Good music picks though, will definitely be listening to a lot of those. One for the spit towns you may pass through...
