Soul 19:09 - Aug 20 with 2507 views | dutch | Finney just tweeted about QPR yesterday having soul, and I know what he means and I know it matters to me. One of my favourite teams of recent years was the Cook, Gallen Bircham side which won promotion. It wasn't just the fact that they were all QPR supporters, that whole team seemed to encapsulate a certain spirit, eccentric, wayward but real, hearts on sleeves, our cave and all that. Is there just a possibility that Gareth can replicate that with the likes of Smyth, Armstrong, Field, Dunne, Chair and some of the youngsters coming through. We don't ask for much, but the bland, mercenaries who have worn the hoops in recent times have largely left me cold. Could the soul be coming back?

Soul on 22:55 - Aug 20 with 1990 views | NorthantsHoop | I can see where you are coming from on this, possibly we are starting to see that the financial constraints and the obscene amounts of money required to run a top level football club, even one in the 2nd tier is driving a change to how players are recruited and developed. The bizarre transfer market and wages in the Premiership I think is destroying the soul of top level football in this country but if you support one of those teams playing the corporate game sure you probably don't care as long as your team remains competitive and can side step the bizarre FFP rules, which invariably they do because the elite can't afford to damage the gravy train they have created.
