Green shoots of Optimism this season. 19:45 - Aug 19 with 1197 views | numptydumpty | As far as I can see from last three games. We have got a potential total menace in Armstrong. His pace and power and was so unlucky not to score. Sometimes you can sense the fear in the goalkeepers and opposition defenders. Today Chair and Willock both performed and also we have signed Dykes down for the long term. Willock battled more and Chair nearly scored a wonder goal and the duracell battery he possesses remains strong. Ainsworth has added experience and hopefully more players with a better injury record and mostly on frees too. Field was solid until he went off as per usual, and today Dozzell was more involved and effective. Duke Mckenna and Dixon Bonner have shown potential in last two games and even though its needs must, it's been great to see a few young ones given a run out. Colback am sure will be a solid signing, again experience counts for something. Hope this signing turns out well also. Smyth too, I like him, a trier in the mould of Ainsworth himself. Kolli is a little live wire and possibly could be a player in times ahead also. I reckon Larkeche from what I have seen could be decent. Paal scored a great goal at Cardiff and is decent also. So far this squad is better than I expected this year given we are very tight on FFP And very important we are not just seeing route one football from Ainsworth. He has adapted and from my perspective this is so important. The style last year stifled our better players and this change means I feel Ainsworth could have chance lasting the season and I feel although we have been widely predicted to be bottom come end of season. I think we could be in at least our customary position of 16th but if not higher. It's a season of transition - we all know that but there are definite green shoots Think Begovic and Cook and Fox all decent signings with lots decent previous playing careers and we have certainly looked more solid at the back than last season in last three games. I still think we may get one or two loans in. One I think will be a striker and the other a right footed defender. I would like to think we can hold onto all the players in the squad as well. And for me that would be a decent turnaround given zero money and ultimate doomsday scenarios coming our way at the end of this season. I certainly won't be putting a penny on us to be demoted and with decent runs of form and luck think we can have a much more solid season than most of this messageboard expect us to achieve.

Green shoots of Optimism this season. on 20:23 - Aug 19 with 1073 views | QPRSteve | I pretty much agree with all of that. Encouraging to see GA throw in youngsters like Kolli. If they are good enough then they are old enough. Get Armstrong fit enough to last 90 minutes and what a weapon he could be, can see him putting a few teams to the sword. His strength and pace remind me a bit of Sir Les. I think we might get more than a couple in on loan. I believe at least on striker, a midfielder and a right back are needed. Very unlucky not to get something out of the game today.

Probably ‘until he went off’ and ‘as per usual’ around the wrong way
