This is a very interesting read, I think. It would be easy to be cynical and say that he's just saying all the "right things", but it sounds like he's had a genuine epiphany.

Pleased he likes the new training ground, I imagine it must have a state of the art treatment room.

Anyway, enough of the talk from this lot.

Let's hope that he can turn intent into performances. Having a fit and firing Chair, Richards and Willock would give us 3 of the best attacking & creative players in the division. Big if mind.

Poll: Who’s better?

We desperately, desperately need him to be A) fit and B) good this season.

I’m prepared to give him a clean slate. Everyone deserves a second chance whatever it is in life, and judging on his cameo against Huddersfield at home last season he undoubtedly has ability. Good luck to him and I really hope that the memory of his best friend is his big inspiration.

Poll: Where will Clive put QPR in his new season preview

I wouldn't be unhappy with a 3 behind a striker of Chair, Willock and Richards.
But its a big if, if he can stay fit and if Willock can get back to anywhere near his best.

Also I doubt Ainsworth will play 4-2-3-1.

"went for a run this morning and it was tough " that about sums him up for me .You would think a player who played zero minutes basically and contributed zero to our desperate survival push would be in better condition.
A new manager to impress and a starting 11 spot to fight for should have been motivation to be in top cardio shape at least but it sounds like more B.S. to me
If Dozzell and Richards are in the first 11 against Watford its a bad start IMO

Neither of those options are going to happen

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore

Interesting comment “there’s no expectation on me”. I hope this shows a positive/humble attitude as opposed to giving it the nutty whallops.

Ah, Nutty Wallops. Now there was a player!

'What do we want? We don't know! When do we want it? Now!'

It did make me laugh to see them running round the edge of the pitch, something when i did my FA Level 1 badge they said we shouldn't do.

Still it never hurt GA when under Holloway and under Gerry Francis so 10 laps it is lads..GO!

I've said this a few times but a fully fit, fully focussed Richards, with an actual arm full of games under his belt is potentially the most gifted player we have had here since Eze. And he's a local lad so we really must get behind him.

Never knowingly right.

Ah….optimism - something I haven't had since about November 1949.

What worries me is the bit at the end about taking advice from Chris Willock.

'Look mate. Tear it up for one season, then run your contract down playing worse than a pub footballer, and see where that can take you away from here.'

Understand the healthy scepticism but if a pre season session of any sort - in fact any training session ever - isn’t ‘tough’ then I’d argue it’s a poor session.
Think you’re extrapolating a fair amount there, not that I blame you! For me it’s still early days with him. But a season like last season again will be a step too far.

Bare bones.

For me the issue is how to use him (fitness depending of course!). He's not a central midfielder in a 2, he's not a winger and he's not a striker. So 4-4-2 is out with him in the team! Either most advanced in a 3 man midfield or a number 10 from what I understand.

Extrapolating, theres a word i've never seen on here before 👍

It's being so happy that keeps me going.

I’ll give Richards the benefit of the doubt as I’ve not seen him play enough. If I’m going by that logic I should also give Dozzell the benefit of the doubt. Despite his apparent 36 appearances last season I still haven’t seen him do anything.

I actually completely forgot about Dozzell, feel kind of bad about all the things I said about Symth. Would much rather have him in the side than Dozzell.

Would’ve loved to have seen him at Loftus Road. Walloon by descent. Breeds squirrels.

Yeah none of us have been impressed. I don't care who it is that rises above the level we thought they were at. I'd rather they all did it.

Bored of these puff pieces. Prove it on the pitch or fk off. Bloke did nothing last season whatsoever so it’s very much hope rather than expectation he does anything of note for the rest of his long contract.

Dozzell- just no. Not going to happen.

I wouldn't be unhappy either, but feel Chair and Willock will be sold and Richards will be limited to occasional late substituttions when we are 2 or 3 goals down and nothing else has worked.

Pre season is meant to be tough and most players hate it. Nothing to see here.
