I suspect it's a more fun fixture than the club were expecting too. They had to leave it late not knowing what division they were going to be in so I think they've been scrabbling around for games a bit. The venue for that one looks like it's in the middle of butt fck nowhere.
Austria pre-season on 16:04 - Jun 7 with 13792 views | DubaiR | May plan a long overdue work trip to Austria now, will hang on to see what we bring in as work or not, I am not doing that journey to see what's left of the current lot and a load of 25 year old youth team players;)

It says that there are two raiffeissen arenas in Austria,so it depends which one it is I guess. [Post edited 7 Jun 2023 16:21]

Well, I'm intrigued by the address for the first game. It says the Raiffeisen Arena, and warns there is more than one. There is one in Linz, and it's big, but it has a little training ground with a smaller stadium next to it. So I presume it's being played in that little ground there. The other one is smaller, and in Pasching, which is off to the side of Linz. However, just to confuse matters, the postcode given on the official website is for neither of those. If you Google street view it it's literally a PowerPlay pitch in a village an hour away from Linz altogether. I mean, it could be there, but I played on a better pitch than that on Monday night in Finsbury Park.
Austria pre-season on 16:29 - Jun 7 with 13642 views | aston_hoop | That address simply cannot be where the game is being played. Its not an arena, its a field. I'm going to assume someone at the club has put the stadium name but the address of the training facilities?

Yeh, it looks like the village athletics track. Surely, surely not?
Austria pre-season on 16:59 - Jun 7 with 13464 views | terryb | It does say that the game is at the Raiffeisen Arena in Rohrbach-Berg. Google says that the arena is the home ground of UFC Pieno Rohrbach-Berg.

Yeh but it is no "arena". Look on Google streetview. It's literally a village's 4G pitch at the side of a road. We can't be playing there surely? You'd only need 150 people to turn up for it to be a problem. There are indeed two Raiffeisen Arenas as it says on the offish. One in Linz, with a smaller training ground stadium next to it, and I reckon it must be there. There's another ground with the same name in Pasching, off to the west of Linz. This is a third one, and it's literally a school pitch. I'm hoping somebody at HQ has copied and pasted and address across wrong, cos I was kind of thinking of going but if it is genuinely taking place there then... fck me.

I can't find anywhere that gives a capacity! Possibly it's the only ground available for that date! The stadium in Steyr holds 6,000 apparently.

It's not a ground, it's a pitch. It won't have a capacity. It's the sort of pitch you'd rent with your mates for Monday night sevens.

I assume it has two goalposts though! Maybe it's the same travel company organising it that we've used for cocked up tours in the past.
Austria pre-season on 17:27 - Jun 7 with 13316 views | AustrianHoop | I certainly can't claim to know much about the area, but the address of Rohrbach Berg may well be correct. The local team seems to play in the fifth tier seemingly. Anyway I have more chance to make the Vorwärts Steyr game. They have been relegated by the way... Their claim to fame.. Oleg Blochin used to play for them in the Eighties... 41 games, 9 goals (ok, I looked that up)

I’m reading ‘QPR: The Road to 76’ atm, and there’s a piece in the book that says that Paul Whitehouse based Ron Manager on Alec Stock. 😀

Indeed, but as I've said that's not the address given on the official website which is... Raiffeisen Arena, Rohrbach-Berg, Hopfengasse 17, 4150 Rohrbach

Four years ago about six or seven of us travelled there to watch Seb Polter's Union Berlin play Blau Weiss Linz the day after our friendly against Austria Vienna. The game wasn't played in the main stadium (which has since been rebuilt) but on the training pitch at the side. I can't find any other 'stadium' with that name - so I'm at a loss as to possible locations for our game. Two of us have opted for a trip to Steyr instead.

Looks like a nice big green field on the other side of the highway, though. Plenty of space for all, but quite a slope....

Hopefully its that one in Linz. 1.5 hours on the train from Vienna, easy enough and somewhere I've never been. If its the field in the middle of nowhere, I probably won't bother. Surprised the club haven't read the comments and clarified this already
