New Birmingham manager if the jungle drums are beating correctly...

That would be more than harsh on Eustace and even more harsh on the Brum support.

It's odd isn't it: Eustace has done slightly better than we have, but we cast lots of admiring glances at 'the job he's doing'. I honestly don't know: has it been that good? They have some pretty serious loans there, should they not have done better? I sort of thing if Eustace had performed the same way for us we'd all be saying he's no good and we should've gone for a fresh start.

I think with the ownership situation, the budget, and the squad he started with there, he's done great. I had them down as dead last this season. They only had 15 players a week before the season.

I think so too. I know hindsight's a wonderful thing but IMO we wouldn't have done any worse had we appointed Eustace to the manager's job here as soon as we knew we were going to dispense with Warburton's services. Whether Eustace would have taken it out of loyalty to MW is another matter.

JT on 09:08 - May 16 by Hayesender | What the hell has happened at Leicester? Only saw the first 10 minutes of the game yesterday, but that team should be nowhere near the bottom three. Also, when was the last time none of the three promoted clubs got relegated? |
It has only happened 3 times out of 30 Premier League Seasons, the last being 5 years ago. Compare that to promotion/relegation to and from the Championship over the same 30 seasons where it has happened 15 times. And in only 2 of those 30 seasons have 2 of the 3 promoted clubs gone straight back down. Another clear indication of how the structure of football in this country is totally stacked in favour of the established Premier League clubs. Although the 3 promoted sides to the Championship haven't all survived since the 2017/2018 season so perhaps the Championship is starting to go the same way... 2017/2018 season. Newcastle, Brighton and Huddersfield were promoted the season before with Stoke, Swansea and West Brom going down... 2011/2012 season with ourselves, Norwich and Swansea all staying up (just) and Bolton, Blackburn and Wolves all relegated. 2001/2002 - Fulham Blackburn and Bolton all survived after promotion, with Ipswich, Derby and Leicester all going down. Although... 1997/1998 is the only season that saw all 3 promoted teams all being relegated. Bolton, Barnsley and Crystal Palace. Which surprised me. Yes, I was bored.

I mean, that's my gut feeling, but then I think of how bad we were for 90% of the season and we STILL stayed up, I wonder whether it was more to do with the rest of the league. Cardiff stayed up and they were dreadful. So were we. Guess next season will be a better indicator, if he stays.

I'd not heard that but...he's doing a workmanlike job at Bradford. Visited their mb a couple of times and the fans express generally positive views about him. I also note the rise in ST's and the increased size of their away following. I think he probably made the right move by dropping down the leagues.

JT on 11:01 - May 16 by qpr1976 | Don’t think so. Sure they (and Bournemouth) agreed to pay a few £M in fines a couple of years ago to avoid any such ffp failure should they come down. |
It’s amazing tbh. FFP is there as a rule that if you exceed and overspend to a certain level you can get heavily penalised. Yet to get over it you pay them off as an insurance against future punishment. Bloody ridiculous
JT on 13:26 - Jun 3 with 710 views | Paddyhoops | According to Ex Bolton ,striker Kevin Davies, speaking on Chris kamara’s podcast . Terry’s shit doesn’t stink . Each to their own I suppose. Regardless of what job he gets , he will fail miserably as his contemporaries, Neville brothers, Lampard and Gearrd all have.
