Some very good analysis on our situation and what we needed from the window here.

Yes i saw this as well. Quite encouraging as he is suggesting Whitaker is exactly what the doctor ordered after assessing all the statistics in a scientific manner.

However it is football and other stuff comes into it . I am confident that both Whitaker and Patterson will get to work. No one was prepared to go very far to buy them.

I believe the owners did not agree with parking Whitaker and Joseph in league 1 while asking for another striker.

Good video, although some glaring errors. A lot of what he says I agree with but he doesn’t seem to know how to apply data to outcomes and often makes the incorrect connection.

For example he is talking about the metric of where we “should” be, but that is largely based on factors determined by a unique game plan as opposed to what that metric is designed for. Which is skewing his analysis on what would happen if another manager took over, or Russell left. It was a bit of confirmation bias on his part:

He says we have had among the most shots and gives that as a reason we are in a false position, yet later he reveals that shots inside the box are in the bottom 3, meaning the bulk of the shots he talked about initially were long range efforts.

He also talks about being a couple of players away from being excellent with us needing players to take on the opposition and be direct, and blames the owners for not delivering Russell these - but fails to acknowledge that was by design and Russell has often castigated anyone who has broken rank and ran at the opposition (Oko Flex being a prime example).

He mentions the few shots by opposition and yet high conceding rate and automatically blamed the keeper, without attributing the context of the system. Meaning the opposition shots are often in very dangerous areas when they win the ball back high up, which again is a system failing rather than personnel failure.

He is correct regarding the treatment of Whittaker but again fails to realise that his directness is the reason why Martin doesn’t like him. His ability to pick up the ball and drive past players and shoot is the opposite of the slow and methodical game plan Russell wants.

A very good and well put together video however, but he just doesn’t grasp how to interpret the data correctly and often comes to the wrong conclusion.

In your opinion.

Lets see what Russell says at the press conference - will he throw anyone under the bus?

And Winter's programme notes tomorrow will be telling. It may be a difficult article for him to write.

He's in a difficult situation here, Levein and Silverstein have clearly thrown the recruitment team under the bus........the owners even went above and beyond to pay more for players who didn't want to come down this way 😂

I would suspect that enough little snippets will be put in by Martin, not clear enough to be obvious.

You would think one of the first questions from the recruitment team to a player is "would you want to play for us?"
It would seem to be a waste of time to progress much further without knowing that.

Not sure of his background or why he's reviewed our Club but for me a pretty accurate assessment of the players , something which most others would agree with , many a time for example hearing the groans around me when a shooting opportunity presents itself which isn't taken either inside or outside the box, hence the shouts of "shoot" from the crowd seem which seems have overtaken Hymns & Arias as the popular chant . He's correct in his assessment of Piroe and when you consider the side this season to what Cooper had then it should be acknowledged regardless of posters opinions of Martin that he's done pretty well to keep us within 4 points of playoff position either by luck or judgement
