Nah me neither.

I’m about to listen to this podcast though. Non Swedish part starts 55 seconds in:

So for clarity. We interviewed him last year, but went with Critchley, then sacked him and brought in Ainsworth, and sacked him as well.
Now a third of the season gone, we decide he is the right man after all.

Manager number.... 5 is it in 18 months?

Ah, I love supporting this club! 😍

Are you suggesting we've cut corners in the recruitment department again.

Maybe, I’ll take your word for it, but where the fck is Kakay, Armstrong, Smyth, and Dykes going to fit in?

Most players at this level can pass a ball and move. Even dom ball played fairly regularly in our team that valued possession.

Bare bones.

This is making me nervous. He looks like he would have been ideal to follow Warburton or Beale, maybe Critchley, but it looks like a big gamble now. Hopefully, the muscle memory is strong in this lot.

My worry is this feels like a big risk at a time when we can’t afford to get this even slightly wrong .

A safe pair of hands was needed surely just until the summer .

But who knows anymore .

Obviously on Les’ radar as there ain’t no one else there who would have a clue who he is. Let’s hope for once it’s a master stroke

I've no idea if this will happen or whether it would work, but it excites me far more than any of the alternatives!

Liam Manning would have been my choice, but I'm certain we couldn't have afforded him or that he would be interested.

Just curious, do we have a squad who can play 433? I don't think we have.
4141? I don't think so either.

Single pivot, deep double-pivot. He’ll have to teach them to take a throw-in first

I appreciate that the club are unlikely to appoint a coach based on this type of write up
(I would hope not anyway), but as I read this I wonder who is making the managerial decision… and who is advising them?

- Hoos won’t have a clue about this depth of tactics by his own admission.
- The owners definitely won’t.
- Ferdinand’s gone.

Therefore if you’re not going for an obvious Warnock type coach, who at the club can pick out these type of ‘hidden gems’ with any confidence, unless they are scouring the internet for these type of analytical reviews.

Well it's driven by the recruitment/analytics side of the business again - Belk's team. And, like I say, the work was done a year ago when Ferdinand was still here. They've just gone over their old notes.

2-0 now, Gazball this is not! Beautiful sweeping move passing the ball out of defence, out to the right wing and into the box for the left winger to finish. Bugger it, I'm sold

Agree. Reading the scout report article earlier in the thread, he relies a lot on a ball playing GK. We just sold ours to replace him with someone whose only consistency in passing is finding row z. Various other ball players have been jettisoned, including two 8s - Amos and Jojo - we can debate their form and injury, but they were 8s and now we have 2 6s in Field and Collback, and Dozzell, whatever you want to call him (maybe "improving"?!) Where does flagship signing Smyth fit in a possession 4-3-3 (I rate him, but he's never struck me as an intricate passing type of player).

That said, while lots feels off about this, it seems like the profile of manager which would do us well both in the champ if we can stabilise and for a L1 rebuild if it comes to that. As long as he can weather the course.

Welcome to the club Marti. I see you like to play possession football. Bad news fella, we have one available central midfielder for Saturday.
Best of luck
