He was elected without a vote from party members which makes me wonder why we had to have party members voting last time and not this time?
UK's first British Asian prime minister and at 42 is the youngest PM in over 200 years.
How long will this one last?
(ironically "Highway to Hell" by AC/DC is blaring out of my speakers as I typed this thread!)
Earlier, Boris Johnson pulled out of the leadership race, saying he had the support needed to stand but it would not be "the right thing to do".
This coming from a man who has no idea of what that even means. More like he didn't have the support and had to save face. Just fk off and wither away, please.

I get that J O'B can be frustrating but surely what he does it not a bad thing? People phone up going on about this, that and the other and (from what I've seen) all he asks is for examples. Rarely can anyone give any. They're probably just repeating parrot fashion what they've read somewhere without actually any depth, just a headline type of knowledge base. What it illustrates is people don't really know much about anything.
An old boss at work was like this. I'd moan about something and she ask for examples. I usually struggled to give more than one or two and she'd just say "it's not really a problem, is it?". It usually wasn't, I was just being moany for moany's sake.
LBC screen calls, you never see O'Brien go up against someone without a rough script. He's a dolt

Just don't understand why they put the teleprompter at an angle rather than in line with the camera so at least you might feel like he's talking to you.

Enjoyed his first book. All he does is hold a mirror up to people and then they get upset when they don’t like what they see.

Some disappointingly grim appointments. Braverman back as Home Sec ffs.
With a few exceptions they're mostly a bad bunch with not much between 'em. Like choosing between innutrition and malnutrition. Nice to see Michael “you Rs” Gove back.

Probably the least terrible of the terrible options and thankfully it isn't that moron Johnson.
James O'Brien put it well in that Sunak will be awful, but at least in a conventional way.
Don’t expect anything socialist or caring for the worst off in our society but at least Sunak can do a bit of arithmetic. His world is finance and he’s good at it.
Strong and stable my arse.

"As Home Secretary I hold myself to the highest standards and my resignation is the right thing to do." - For a week then I'll continue in the job.
To be fair to Braverman, the ‘leak’ she performed last week was already in the public domain to the most part and totally intentioned as a message to Truss to say ‘when you fùck up you resign’. Truss was too thick to understand the irony.

"was already in the public domain to the most part"
So there were parts that were not in the public domain then?

Ah so she's leaking stuff on purpose to sort out issues within the conservative party?
She's either accidentally broken the ministerial code because and shouldn't be in that position hence the resignation. Or she's deliberately broken the ministerial code to make a point once again putting their party squabbles ahead of running the country. Either way I don't think she should be back so soon, at least have some respect for the public and pretend that she's had some time to reflect on it so you can argue she won't do it again.

In a nutshell!
The doctrine of individual and collective responsibility has long gone. I'd suggest the last one to properly adhere to it was Lord Carrington, following the invasion of the Falklands. Arguably Thatcher should have followed suit and resigned herself. As the head of the specific inner group she set up and presided over, with responsibility for the defence of British overseas territories, she was caught napping despite intel coming up from the South Atlantic that the Argies were planning to invade.
The gameplan these days does not expect there to be extended consequences, if at all, for transgressions in public office. A mere slap on the wrist, step down for a few months and await the reappointment. Mandelsohn was a classic case in point; three transgressions as I recall, and all resulted with him back in the fold in due course.
All of which supports the belief that Guy Fawkes was the last person to enter parliament with an honest intention!
