I was in Morrisons some years ago and a Scotsman lurched up and intoned.

My Nan used to say, “Children see everything, hear everything, and forget nothing” and given the amount of people I know who have issues related to throwaway remarks or ‘small’ incidents in their childhood, that’s something I try to be conscious of as a father.

Never judge a man until you’ve walked a mile in his moccasins.

And as others have said, treat others as you would have them treat you.
