Tony Grealish misses a sitter for Luton in last second of first half to make it 2-0. Sadly passed away not too long ago. His old man ran the Flora on the Harrow Road.
But never mind all that I’m amazed at how good the top 40 was … even the records I didn’t like I liked if you know what I mean. A significant percentage of that chart was payed for by my misspent dinner money.

Remember it vaguely. Huge crowd rammed in and the Rangers fans (big away following) were in what is the 'Home' End today. 2 really good teams but neither got promoted that season (79/80).

that was a great day all round for me. got into luton 12ish. come out the station turn right, a large pub just down the road, with what seemed like 20 pool tables in. qpr completeley took over that pub. about half hour before ko the pub empties, every soul together marching on to luton, the scene was unbelievable. good result, 1-1, top of the table clash....19,000 there, i think. got home back to me aunts house on the peabodys, cleverly estate, unbeknowing to me, a surprise birthday party for me 21st. where did we put all that drink in them days.
That was the start of a lifelong hatred of Luton. As a 15 year-old, standing alone at HT (my mate had gone for a piss) I was arrested for breach of the peace. Carted off to Luton nick I was eventually let out at 7.30 with no money and no way to get home
