Missed Chair on set pieces, particularly from the left.

I thought we tired mentally as well. Late on in the game was the first time in a very long time that I thought we'd stopped thinking, stopped believing.

The disappointing thing about Chair is he isn't even playing for Morocco and we do miss him

How many times have we lost a game like that in previous seasons, two big chances and didn’t take them. May give the board a nudge to sign a forward player before the deadline. Onwards and upwards lads.

Think he seems to be doing it even more now than he did for us

Nah, he was always a little bollix to be fair!

He actually went up in my estimation tonight (which, I'll admit, wouldn't be hard). We targeted him for a while tonight with our lads takin it in turns to rough him up, and he just got on with it. Have to give him that.

He also played quite well, though it was him that left Amos in for the shot against the post. he'll always have that rick in him, he's no defender.

crossing was dreadful this evening. Charlie offers nothing if there is no final ball.

Take a point on a poor night

Yep, crossing and set pieces were dire. I still don't understand why Barbet takes free-kicks awarded just outside of the penalty area.

Will echo others that our defense is so much better, though I thought Barbet had a relatively poor match.

We could use with some reinforcement up too. Chair back soon, but we looked tired and out of ideas pretty quickly tonight. Wouldn’t mind adding one.

We have put a lot of effort into getting late wins recently so I guess we ran out of steam and that run had to end although Dykes should have still won it late on.

Tonight's showing did concern me as I am looking ahead to the last 7 games and with five away and travelling around when even more tired by then could scupper our chances of going up. None of this one game at a time with me.

We have lost the free flowing flair play where we looked like getting a hatful to a more pragmatic approach where sometimes you wonder where a goal will come from while more secure at the back.

Yeah, a set piece taker is something we are badly lacking,

I do agree that it’s a bit concerning that we don’t look nearly as potent, but I think some of it is by design for this month without Chair.

Think we do need an additional creative type in the squad.

QPR possession 43% Swansea 57%.
QPR Shots on target 2 Swansea 5
QPR Shots 6 Swansea 12
QPR Corners 4 Swansea 3
Fouls 15 each.

QPR current league postion looking pretty good to me.

Next.

Bit of a frustrating night, and drab game, but if you cant win just make sure you dont lose and we were streetwise enough to at least do that.

Poor Willock getting kicked to pieces at the minute.

FT REPORT
Disappointing - yes.
Could we have won - yes.
Performance - below par.
Amos, sparkling run into the box - just before the hour - fired in a powerful shot that hit the base of the post.
Then the shaven-haired sub Dykes - unmarked - missed a clear close range chance - seven minutes from the end - hitting the ball too close to keeper Hamer.
As Warbs says - it's all about fine margins.
Could we have lost yes.
But great saves from Marshall along with Dunne - again strong in defence.
To snap up Marshall in the transfer window is proving to be a stroke of genius.
A clean sheet - which is good, and our first 0-0 draw in 42 Championship matches.
We've picked up maximum points lately when perhaps we didn't deserve - say at Coventry on Saturday.
This time we have to accept one point - that could make all the difference at the end of the season.
This surely was a match - as said in this thread - that was needing extra creativity from Chair.
We're missing those lovely defence penetrating triangles of Wallace, Chair and Willock.
But no chance of him returning soon as he's likely to again warm the bench for Morocco in their AFCON quarter-final on Sunday.
Swansea had their orders - hack down Willock as soon as they could.
He'll be full of bruises. He was replaced by Thomas in the closing stages.
A smart move - keep Willock for this weekend's match.
And Odubajo took quite a physical beating too - although he looks like he can look after himself.
I like Odubajo. More matches - hopefully better crosses .
And he has the advantage of playing in either full-back/wing back positions - underlined when Adomah came on to replace Wallace.
How good were Swansea?
Nice possession football and they look good to finish in the top half of the table.
The Downes sending off in injury time - made no difference.
It was the second time Downes and Charlie had grappled.
So our win run comes to an end - no complaints.
Our recent record - won 8, drawn 2, and lost 2 of our last 12 Championship games - not bad.
So we remain fourth - a point behind Bournemouth and four behind second placed Blackburn with a game in hand.
And we're 5 points clear of 7th placed Forest.
Let's settle for that one point.
Home to Reading on Saturday.
Three points will be welcome.
And welcome to on-loan defender Dion Sanderson.
How astute has been our recruitment? Excellent.
What a ride our team are giving us this season.

Think the inevitable caught up with us tonight. We have robbed some wins lately by some very narrow margins but we are desperately short of a goal threat. The difference in budgets does eventually show.

Big choice for the board now whether to try to buy a Lawrence or Paterson or loan someone like Naki.

Am not one of these fans who demands it of the board, btw - they already lose fortunes on us, but with Middlesbrough and Forest looking strong, I just fear we could fall short. And that isn't to be at all negative about this crop of players who have played out of their skins to get us competing against teams who cost many times more.

Johansen delivery pretty poor all night. With Chair not here so much rests on his and Willocks shoulders. When Johansen plays well we usually win. He wasn't great tonight. Outside of the box, Austin is baggage and the delivery into the box was rubbish tonight so not surprised he was frustrated. Odubajo not a patch on Albert and Wallace not as effective without Chair.

All that being said we've been on a good run without playing all that well. Chair should be back after the FA cup and we may well bring in at least one more attacking player. Dykes in a bit of a rut but he has gone on little runs of form in the past so hopefully he can find some form towards the end of the season.

On a positive a win against Reading and this suddenly doesn't look a terrible result. Just hope we can nick a goal as we seem to be running on fumes at the moment.
