Relatives in Ireland swear it's not far off the real thing, draft that is. Not sure about cans.
It is excellent.
However, it doesn't taste any good if you buy it in Epsom. If you see any of it in Epsom, please let me know where it is and I'll go down there to deal with it.

It's not actually served from a keg in the pubs. They have a tap at the counter, but the beer is actually stored in a chilled cannister, which is taken from the special fridge when you order it, then the dispenser/tap at the bar extracts it fro the cannister and pours it into the pint glass.
So for all intents and purposes, it's given to the pubs by the brewery in a can.
What a great idea.Where do you buy them from, and where are the special cans sold?
I believe the first batch went on sale end of November 2021. The starter kit with 4 tins of Guinness was £750. A slab of 24 cans was selling only on the Guinness website at £70 so just under £3 a pint which I think is rather a lot to drink at home.
Like the Guinness Surger unit which came out some years ago now, the cans for that were available on Amazon for around £50 for 24 so down the line this might be the same if they become more widely available. However, my understanding is Guinness no longer make the Surger Units (Sought after on Ebay these days) so not sure if the cans are even available anymore which is my concern with this new gadget. If down the line they stop making them, thats a large sum of money on what is likely to be a novelty item.

I remember when my brother and me went to Ireland in about 1983 and he bought 4 bottles of draught Guinness, and all it had was a plastic plunger which you put in the glass after pouring it.All it did as blow air into it. They used to pour a pint of Guinness in the pubs in about 3 or 4 fills with loads of time to settle in between pours.I remember seeing the glasses lined up in different stages of being poured.Shame I only drank Harp in those days, but it was that or smethwicks.

It truely is excellent. I tried drinking draught straight after the AF (UK versions) a few weeks back and there was basically no difference.
Down in the Sutton area they tend to turn up from time to time in Morrisons and in the larger Asdas (Beddington, Burgh Heath). But you've got to be quick if you see them - managed to pick up a few packs in Morissons Sutton yesterday, was in there again today and the remaining ones had gone already. An alternative "cheat" is to order them as part of an online Asda store collection order (as that way they will normally only show available if they are in stock in the chosen store ;-) )

I tried that earlier but they said they were out of stock straight away.
