Posters we haven’t heard from in a while. on 11:25 - May 9 with 2574 views | stevec | That’s terribly sad news. 2 Thomas 2 Bowles was a great name too, was that specific to a Brian Moore commentary away to Wolves? Could have been every game back then, good memories. As said, glad Clive followed things up, very thoughtful. RIP 2T2B.
Posters we haven’t heard from in a while. on 11:47 - May 9 with 2521 views | CiderwithRsie | I like to think his last QPR memories were of the side playing great football, going on a glorious run, with the play-offs still mathematically possible. RIP

Posters we haven’t heard from in a while. on 09:02 - May 9 by Northernr | Guys, sad news. I emailed the addy we had on file for 2T2B to check in and had a reply back this morning from his daughter, Sarah, saying Jim passed away a month ago in a hospice, just after turning 62, of pancreatic cancer. RIP. |
Incredibly sad; he had a really tough life by any standard with health & family. RIP

Enjoyed his posts as this place needs a bit of colour and confrontation from time to time as it’d be a tad boring if everyone just agreed with everything all the time! RIP Jim 🙠

Posters we haven’t heard from in a while. on 12:51 - May 9 with 2353 views | Myke | Very sad news. I feared the worst when he hadn't posted for a while as he was quite prolific. Deepest condolences to his two daughters. Like with most posters, I did not know him personally, but we are like a family on here and like all families we had our laughs and squabbles in equal measure. He will be sadly missed. Obviously had lots of health issues, being confined to a wheelchair and then to have pancreatic cancer is just rotten luck. 62 is no age to die at. Hopefully he gained some solace on this site especially towards the end. May he Rest In Peace

Ditto from me as well. We also had a message duel on a couple of occasions, and that must have been in his final few weeks around as well. Shame that he didn't let us know what he was going through, as I'm sure we'd all have really wanted to say "we're with you, Mate", but I guess in a sense its pretty brave to tough it through on your own. Maybe we were a sort of sanctuary for him?

Posters we haven’t heard from in a while. on 13:34 - May 9 with 2241 views | terryb | RIP Jim. We often disagreed on footballing matters, but when the subject of mental health arose we were staunch allies. I think the latter was far more important! Also, what a great user name. Condolences to his family & friends.

Posters we haven’t heard from in a while. on 16:04 - May 9 with 1965 views | LeedsR | Sad news indeed. Condolences to his family and friends. I never knew him personally, and as I said in the OP, I didn’t always agree with him, but supporting a club will always draw a range of opinions. As a fellow R, I’d always respect the conviction of his opinion, even if we didn’t agree. RIP.

Posters we haven’t heard from in a while. on 16:52 - May 9 with 1846 views | CLAREMAN1995 | Its with a heavy heart I am reading this news from Clive who I thank for getting through to Jim's family to confirm our worst fears .Its never easy to find out someone you know has passed on to the Promised Land but for Jim it ends a lot of suffering and pain and for that I am greatful.Hopfully he is holding his wife's hand discussing QPR and their amazing finish to the season which I pray he was able to enjoy from here or above. Jim had a heart of gold and helped me multiple times like uploading images ,sending and receiving PMs etc and his wicked sense of humor despite his health issues was brilliant . His work on the Corona was incredible and while I cant say he calmed us down his contributions were always insightful Hopefully his 2 girls are doing well and if they can access this thread will be uplifted by the lovely outpouring of nice thoughts and wishes from this incredible LFW community . I will finish with the roll call from Sgt Phil Esterhaus from Hill Street Blues Jim's avatar "Lets be careful out there " RIP Jim sleep peacefully they broke the mold when they made you man truly one of a kind
Posters we haven’t heard from in a while. on 16:54 - May 9 with 1834 views | CroydonCaptJack | RIP Jim. Controversial but entertaining poster and echo what people have said. 62 is no age. Pancreatic Cancer took my father in law at 56 so I am aware it has the lowest survival rate of any cancer. Very sad news.
