The over my dead body Norwich match thread 18:59 - Apr 22 with 24465 views | losethedrum | i have been having constant nightmares this week about Norwich winning the title at Loftus Road on saturday . They are the best team in this division but the mere thought of Todd C*ntwell dancing around on the hallowed turf after diving for yet another penalty turns my stomach , he is like Justin bieber on acid . At least we wont have to endure 2000 yokels invading the pitch i suppose so it could be worse . Come on U'RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRS!!!!!!!!!!! For all that were there in april 76 .

The over my dead body Norwich match thread on 17:00 - Apr 24 by Greenbay | FT REPORT Let's not be too disappointed. We lost deservedly to the best team in the Championship. Yes if the fine margins had gone our way - perhaps we could have grabbed a point. A first-half mistake by Dieng gifted Norwich the lead. A missed second-half penalty by Dykes - straight down the middle - Kruel did not move and saved easily. But look at the overall 90 minutes. Norwich - slick-passing at speed - wonderful movement - so easy on the eye - so enjoyable to watch. And they should have scored more with Pukki missing a hat-trick of comfortable chances. What about us? I think we did well. We did our best to match the opposition. We delivered some slick movement too. But our finishing not quite as sharp as we could hope. The way Norwich play is what we aspire to do in the future and we are on our way. Austin missed a couple of close headed chances. He took up some great positions. Sub Adomah is such a classy player. Shame it seems that he can't do more than it seems than 30 minutes or so. Disappointed yes, proud of the team yes. We just got beat by a better side. What is strange is that a classy outfit like Norwich could be back in the Championship the season after next. Just goes to show the massive standard in difference between the Premiership and the Championship. Dykes tap in goal was his 12th of the season. We drop two places to 10. We can't go lower than 12th. Absolutely no reason though why we can finish with two wins away at Stoke next Saturday and then home to Luton seven days later. 8th place still a big possibility. Amazing really following the first half of the season. |
Pretty much spot on Green What impressed me most for them was the full backs. Both scored and they gave the team really good options. I hate digging out ours, though Wallace had a decent game but can we expect a 35 yr old to do as well next year. I so want the young lads to develop and won't give up on them, but next season is going to be huge for both Ozzy and Nico

Dieng, Dickie, Dykes and Wallace all made key mistakes but have been great for us lately, so should get a pass. Norwich are so good, we had to be error-free. Spirit and fight of team in last half hour commendable...compare to Rotherham away.

Yes, key positions and need to have confidence in the players there. I've seen Nico play much better at Kilmarnock but in a back 4, don't know what Finland play but good reports on his games for them too. Will he develop his game as a wing back as it looks obvious we need to play that way with the CBs we have? He's athletic and strong so I hope his game can be improved upon. On the right it will be interesting where we go given the Kane situation, I thought him and Kakay were having a decent battle for the shirt until the Kane interview (which I didn't think was too disrespectful albeit ill advised). Given these circumstances personally I'd have gone with Albert for a few games to see if he could hold the position, I like what he brings to the team when he's able to get his crosses going.
The over my dead body Norwich match thread on 18:19 - Apr 24 with 1609 views | Boston | Glad it was a good game to watch, because it wasn’t the greatest listening entertainment. And, I’m having a tough time on the job today and, one of the guys made a complete cock up and, someone nicked material off the job and Covid...,,

The over my dead body Norwich match thread on 18:29 - Apr 24 with 1556 views | davman | Yep, they looked the best team we have faced this season on that showing. Yes there were two mistakes from our two contenders for Player of the Season and the missed peno, but Pukki had a strange off day and we could have taken a hammering there. We matched them for many periods, but the cock ups show that we are far from the finished article. Love the fact that Seny needed a full; on mask to support his nose, whereas Jordy made do with a kids' Elastoplast. Disappointing, but ultimately unimportant. Let's bounce back with two wins to end the season...

I think Seny wore the mask because of embarrasing crows feet.
The over my dead body Norwich match thread on 19:16 - Apr 24 with 1406 views | dmm | There were a lot of errors made by most players today. Dieng for their first goal, Dickie for the third, Dykes missing the penalty were the stand out ones. However, there seemed to be more misplaced passes, missed tackles, overhit balls etc. than usual. The budgies certainly dominated the ball - almost 60% possession - and made sure we had little time on the ball when we had it. That will have forced many of those errors. We didn't played that badly though and we were good in spells. They were simply better on the day, though if we'd have drawn level with the pen, who knows...
The over my dead body Norwich match thread on 22:10 - Apr 24 with 1123 views | derbyhoop | It was a good test against the champions elect. I thought they showed why they are likely to go up as title winners. Fine margins but we were the wrong side of all of them It showed us how much more we need to improve [Post edited 24 Apr 2021 22:45]
