Such sad news hearing Glen has died. Life at times can be terribly cruel many people through the pandemic have suffered awful loses and now we have lost Glen after a long battle with a brain tumour.

Everybody who new Glen could only have admiration for the way he conducted himself on and off the field. He really was a gentleman and one of the nicest guys you will ever meet.
As a player he was brilliant and he would come out the defence with the ball and do the Roeder shuffle

I had the pleasure of playing with Glen at the R’s and also socially as one of Glens great passions was greyhound racing and we would meet up at various tracks around the country. Southend was one of Glen’s favourite tracks I would be gambling like a mad and drinking like a fish

Glen had his own style maybe one glass of wine or a beer and betting within his means and that was Glen. He enjoyed his dogs and it was not all about being there to gamble, you could still have a great night. I wish that had followed Glen’s example.

Also when I would go horse racing I would bump into Glen and swap info we had and yes we did get a few winners. Glen really liked people. Stan also got on really well with him and when we held the lunch to support Stan, Glen was the 1st to buy tkts for him and his wife Faith.

Played CB and at the time would have been 12/13 and probably ended up spraining my own ankle trying to unsuccessfully emulate the shuffle.

A player that was ahead of his time and just oozed class. Condolences to his family & friends; far too young...

Some great tributes here. Bosh’s story is wonderful. For me Glenn was the first defender I idolised. Up until then it was the attacking flair players that I was inspired by but Glenn had so much class - and flair - rare for a defender. He was the Beckenbauer of Shepherds Bush. I only mentioned his name the other day in a post-match zoom chat saying Rob Dickie has something of the Roeder about him the way he carries the ball out of defence. Glenn Roeder was one of the greatest captains QPR ever had. A privilege to watch him play. RIP.

A minutes applause is happening on Wednesday night,but surely a minutes silence would mark the occasion more?

I agree with you mate if there is a crowd,but 30 people clapping around the centre circle is not a proper show of respect in my opinion.I think the clapping was only brought in to stop the idiots from ruining a minute’s silence,but seeing as there isn’t a crowd,there is nobody to ruin it.
I think the silence would be a more moving event than applauding will be.
