Any Training Ground Info 08:30 - Feb 12 with 2631 viewsPerthRs

Back in October the club were seeking consultation with the authorities in regard to the planning application/permission, it seems to have gone quiet does anyone have any info regarding progress? I thought that we were looking at moving in about this time next year.

All planning is taking forever at the moment. It's taking ten weeks to undertake routine local authority property searches. I also wonder whether they're putting it on ice for cash flow reasons given the situation of practically zero income.

Yes, if you though the Council departments couldn't go any slower you want to see them now!

If the timescale is anything like my recent house move don't expect anything to happen quickly. No news isn't necessarily bad news. Just hang back, be patient and hopefully we'll hear stuff as and when it's ready to be made public.

There's a couple of finites on this that weren't the case with Warren Farm. Firstly, we've bought the freehold, we own the land, we've exchanged, we're definitely going. Secondly, the lease is up on Harlington shortly (end of next season I think) so we have to either go then or extend the lease, and I can't imagine they'd want to rent it for another year when they've already bought a new one.

According to the London Borough of Hounslow an application to develop the training ground was submitted on 6 November 2020:

According to the last club announcement, there are currently no timescales on when the first team will move in:

As the club completed its purchase of the freehold in December 2020, I'd like to think that it is reasonably confident of progress this time around. Unlike Warren Farm, the club own the Heston site so it has more control and is less susceptible to the kind of action that was taken against Ealing Council. Moreover, it is seeking to develop an existing training ground that is not geologically conserved. That being said, if Warren Farm taught us anything, it's to be patient and take nothing for granted.
