Here I Come!' with my LC's, so couldn't resist. Anyway to the match itself : 1-1 with err... contrasting styles. Chair to score.

How do you come out of that Millwall game last week, and decide to take Chair and Carroll off again? I've just watched his post match, "we didn't look after the football". No fcking sht. Against a direct team a week ago we led, we took our two best ball players off, and we blew it. To just run that same song again, fck me. Fck me.

My thoughts exactly. Same as millwall, we completely surrendered any chance of winning by taking off our best 2 possession based players in Chair and TC. Brain melt moment again. The definition of madness - doing the same thing over and again and expecting different results. Barmy one trick pony.

Yes my idea of progress is like the Brentford way of improving the league position season by season and they replace their best players sold with players equally as good or better so now they challenge for promotion. When we sell our best players they are replaced by inferior quality so any progress we make quickly slides back so we just arrive back at square one. We are awful in picking new players and bringing players in.

So he has to go then ? He keeps making the same subs at the same time and we keep conceding Sh1t goals
| And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot
That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles

I think if they had a realistic, available alternative that they liked lined up then he would go now. I think if there was an old veteran kicking around out there that could come and steady us and keep us up ahead of a summer long term appointment that would do that. But I don't think either of those things are true.

If he had missed half a dozen good chances then fine but he has had nothing to work with again. I thought his general play was good. On the money we have available you wont get someone who will create a goal from nothing. Our wide players service isn't working. The get to the byline and try a low pull back. has failed. Lets try a Cook/Blackstock approach Get a yard of space whip a cross in that Dykes/Bonne can attack. Then if he fluffs every chance give him sh1t,

This! The 'buy-in' of significant parts of the fan base to Hoos' and Les' 'business model' can, let us hope, reflect in front of a black mirror tonight. This is where it leaves us - our main asset sulking for a belated move, a shower of inadequate kids and cast-offs, and hanging on for a draw against Wycombe in December! Plus our broken record manager defending the indefensible to rub our noses in it after. Oh, and Christmas is quarantined.

Don’t think he did much wrong today. Linked the play as well as could be reasonably expected with a midfield a solid eighth of a mile away.
Privately want Gar to stay up but Publicly we need the points -Match thread on 20:51 - Dec 19 with 1171 views | LeedsR | The unfathomable decision to take off our best two players in Chair and LTC again, and wonder why we couldn’t keep the ball aside, the contrast to last season’s team in terms of quality, is stark. With the goals from Wells, Hugill and the offensive guile and skill from Eze and a BOS who actually gave a stuff, we had a potent attack that could score goals, but in doing so, papered over our defensive failings. Now we can’t score for toffee, and it makes our situation even more worrying. I think Dickie is a really good signing and Dieng is much more assured in the net, but we’re not cutting it as a team. Concerning times.

Absolutely. BOS had that shot in the second half when Dykes was waiting for a cross. Our bloody goal came when we actually put a cross in. He should have gone with two up front today and played two wingers with instructions to hit them with crosses. Of course he went with Plan A as per usual. What's become clear this season is just how much Eze carried the team and Warburton last season.

The business model is dependent on having someone competent scouting and signing players. If Fernandes and co. want to employ former players, fine, get them to do the hospitality. Arsenal look to have a similar problem with Edu.

Quite! And, er, developing them, engendering a footballing style and coaching them into a cohesive unit, before we sell at the earliest opportunity to keep said business model afloat rather than build a competitive and enterprising team that kids like me once got obsessed with back in the 1970s, that people want to watch and that players want to come and play for. Rather evidently, if you don't recruit well, you can employ the best footballing economists in the business, and you'll still fall on your arse. For those fans who don't understand football is a sport first and a business second, Rs or not, they can stick their pre-programmed neoliberalism up their arses! You can bring through young players to polish up and profit from, but you still need a nucleus of savvy and skilled players who can compete, play for the team, and a defined style while the club is percolatiing. Does this really need saying? Glumly, I'm afraid I agree with the poster who suspects relegation would actually suit this executive and their toxic combination of incompetence and unaccountability. What upset me most today looking at the 'highlights' was the body language of the players - BOS turning away from the og as if his mother had just died, and hardly so much as a raised arm from any of them. That's MW's 'professional athletes' for you, it seems, but what do I know as a keyboard warrior who's only been watching QPR since 1975? [Post edited 19 Dec 2020 21:28]

What's the point of playing two up front when our creative midfielders refuse to pass to anyone else?
