So good to see us win away on Sky as that doesn't happen very often. I think we have two London Derby away fixtures on Sky coming up so I hope we will be up for them and be solid in defence like tonight.
I am not sure what to make of Derby as they seem to be losing all their home games and drawing all their away games. Preston are another curiosity, losing at will at home but winning away without any hassle. It seems both are missing home support to spur them on but away from home are boosted by the home team having no fans. Covid affected performances and results...
Now onto Blackburn where we consistently lose by one goal margins. Can we now end this as they seem to have lost their way a bit recently? |
I'm not sure there are 'home' and 'away' matches at the moment, not so far as results are concerned anyhow. Without fans every game is, effectively, played at a neutral ground. |  | | |

I think, like Carroll, Warburton is easing him into it.
Noticeable that with Carrol's first full 90 for us, that it was also his best performance.

Some very strong performances last night, for me Dickie was excellent, getting into his stride. Hamalainen had his best game, gaining experience and confidence. Dieng the makings of a very good keeper, he commands area and able to make saves low down, something Lumley struggled with. Warburton big shout out for his tactics, totally got it right, and made substitutions at the right time. Really like Dominic Ball in the team, he gets us moving forward quickly and puts in a shift, which basically all of them did well last night. Two very big wins on the bounce, hope this is the catalyst to build more confidence and push on. A result at Blackburn on Saturday would be the icing on the cake. |  | | |

They tried putting Hammelainen against pace first and then to rough him up with Waghorn and he stood up to both very well. Plenty of room for improvement but there’s a player there for sure. Think he’ll offer more going forwards too as his confidence grows. | | | |

Watching from 'The Land That Lockdown Forgot'..Sweden.
My first chance to see us for a whole game this season. It seems to me that it makes a difference when you play everybody in their favoured position, instead of trying to put square pegs in to round holes.
An encouraging team performance, where everybody stood up to be counted. It starts from the goalie. Dieng owned his goal area and that must help Dickie and Barbet play with more confidence.

I agree it's good to play Albert sparingly. He looks really good for 45/50 minutes, a real creative outlet and despite his age diligent in tracking back but tires noticeably. Warburton always very careful about marshalling players to avoid injuries and he's one of those players I think he'll wrap in cotton wool because of his quality when he does play. BOS looks like he needs a rest. It's not just the number of games, he's also the player that always gets clattered most by the opposition. |  | | |

Based on a match at the Fakes' ground some years ago, I was concerned when I saw that Gavin Ward was the referee. When a couple of decisions went against us I worried some more, but overall he was ok - yes it would have been criminal if he blown up for Dickie's challenge that led to the goal. |  | | |
