Everyone just angry at that shithouse performance I guess. If the order or results were the other way round we’d be in exactly the same position but bouncing. That’s Championship football for you. We’ll probably batter Boro next week and this will be all forgotten.

Dont think it is the fact that we have lost one match...it is once again the manner of the loss Coventry are not going to set this division alight but from every corner they did their hardest not to score... We are desperate at defending and as they are professional footballers with professional coaches to still be like this after a year is disgraceful I think as fans we are wanting to at least se some organisation and some improvement

Yes, I think you misunderstood several posts. I can’t see anyone suggesting sacking Warburton. Just hiring a coach to focus on the defence. That would probably be worth the investment.

To be honest I don't think it is hard to be defensive and organised Start with a 4-4-2 with the two banks of 4 working close together and closing down Dykes and perhaps Smyth the 2 on top for now and hope to get another Or even a 4-4-1-1 but start with the 2 banks of 4 | | | | Login to get fewer ads

2T2B certainly is! I see a lot of this reaction as bonkers because... A) its our 2nd game of the season B) we've lost 1 game of 2 (not counting Plymouth, it was a glorified friendly) C) We are an open team - we score more and concede more. Yes its frustrating, but thats life, when we lose I'd rather it be 3-2 than 1-0. D) If we'd lost 1-0 tonight there still would have been loads of posts howling about how terrible everything is, only they'd have been complaining about strikers instead of defending. E) No team ever wins every game F) If we're shite and at the bottom after 10 games, I'm all for serious questions being asked, but after 2 its a little bit early for all of this. G) Thank God Twitter and the like didnt exist when we lost to Vauxhall Motors, could you imagine? This isnt unique to QPR - I saw on Northampton Town's Facebook the other night there were howls of anguish and demands for everyone to be sacked after they lost to Bristol City in the cup. That'll be Bristol City who are one league above them, and two months ago were two leagues above, and but for Covid and PPG could still have been two leagues above, and the manager has just got them promoted. Crazy, just crazy.

Curtis Fleming came in years ago in that role and did a good job in turning the defence around. Sousa as a manager has us boring the tits off everyone, as did JFK. There must be qualified coaches out there. Just look to league 1 and league 2 and look at the first team coaches of sides with great defensive records, assess the other variables to determine if we think one of them is responsible for the defensive record and offer them an annual salary that amounts to a month or two’s wages for some of our players and they’ll likely sign. We can’t keep doing the same thing with the same coaching group and expecting a miraculous turnaround in our defending. I can accept us conceding more from open play due to our style of play, but not set pieces. Once the ball is on the corner spot, defending them is the same throughout professional football.

Set pieces, slm, set pieces. This year and last. Warburton knows it’s a very poor area for us given his response to Clive’s questions. But it’s not being fixed. It needs to be. We’re also not exactly free flowing in possession atm. 1 goal from open play in two games and not many clear cut chances. We can’t be gifting teams goals from set pieces like we do.

If after 10 games there is a pattern emerging again, I'm all for questions. But, with the greatest of respect and no intention of arguing, I cant buy into it after 2 games. Last season is history now and irrelevant, the good and bad! We'll score set piece goals ourselves this year too!

Didn’t the tree huggers last week went off bonkers in their forum having lost to fecking useless QPR with the worst manager in the league and baying for blood and to sack lamouchi? Funny eh, the madhouse came to town this time around.....

The point is last season is not history. The problems with the defence then has continued into this season.

I don't agree with the sentiment of QPR_John's post, but I thought the lockdown period was our best opportunity to make an appointment. That said, very few of us were having a go at the defence last Saturday so maybe it's a problem that IS getting better but just doesn't look like it an hour after that shower.

well, tactically I'm not sure what we were doing today, but...........the headers they won from corners, we seemed to go man to man - the people on the pitch let us down. The first goal..........i was going to say what was wallace thinking, but he clearly wasn't. We didn't get caught out up the pitch, individuals just didn't perform well enough. Midfield looked very lightweight though, and I feel cameron's best days have gone.

**Coventry Match Thread** on 03:09 - Sep 19 with 1311 views | Hooparoo | Christ, where do you start? If Warburton can’t see that Chair is wasted on the left and that his boyfriend Amos is never a number 10 then no, he doesn’t know what he’s doing and we fans have a right to question his methods. Add into the mix that Wallace and Cameron are clearly ready for the pension, the whole defence ball watches and there was no attempt until very late in the game to change the formation to get someone close enough to link with Dykes and maybe Warbs is either too stubborn to change or needs glasses. As for Lumley, his confidence is obviously shot which is also draining on the whole team. Put him out of his misery - please! Wish I’d stayed in bed instead of watching that load of crap.

**Coventry Match Thread** on 05:41 - Sep 19 with 1240 views | Mistication92 | I don't mind the gung-ho approach TBH, it's more exciting losing 3-2 than 1-0, but it might be wise for MW to wind his neck in the next time he's asked about the defence. It starts to look like you're a bad coach if you keep emphasising how much defensive work is being done, only to keep conceding soft as poo goals. That second one was pathetic. #overdraft
