Owls match thread 11:34 - Jul 10 with 28591 views | TheChef | Never started one before - nothing to lose, beach towels out, deckchairs out, Factor 50 out. Would be best for everyone if we just took a point each and saved everyone the bother. Prediction: QPR 0 Sheffield Wednesday 1

Owls match thread on 16:10 - Jul 11 by rsonist | Are we really suggesting this is because we're without the lionhearts Hall and Pugh. |
I think losing Hall has been significant. No one else has been able to organise our defence – not that he was any Frank McLintock – but the panic since his departure has been evident.
Owls match thread on 16:14 - Jul 11 with 1409 views | Stanisgod | Wigan camera crew taken over at half time. Suddenly started getting pointless replays when we're taking a corner. Brainless.

Our defense hasn’t been the issue We’re giving the ball away in horrible areas.... no defense can cope with that Our problem is going forward

Also, because he was one of our most important players and one of our form players before the break.

Owls match thread on 16:14 - Jul 11 by qprd | God I can’t bear to watch anymore backwards and sideways passes from Amos Absolutely no intent and willingness to take a risk How is he still in the team? What does he bring to the table to justify a spot? |
I think it looks particularly bad as both him and Ball are too negative, need someone with a bit of forward drive in there. Manning would be an improvement and it might get him energised too

We'll have to disagree. Our defence has been poor all season, the stats tell you that, but now it's disastrous.

Owls match thread on 16:11 - Jul 11 by BrianMcCarthy | Ah stop it. Most of these lads were second in the form team pre-lockdown. It's poor now...but worst team ever? |
5 games, 4 lost, 1 won, two goals scored (when we had a striker), 6 conceded. No striker, no defense, no attacking midfield. Ball is our only player in the middle of the park, but he's a defensive midfielder. They have no fckin clue. We haven't had a shot yet and its half way through the second half.

It’s a fair point on ball, but tbf to him, he’s more of the cdm... Amos is supposed to be the creative one (he’s clearly not defensive as proven by the fact that he’s literally never once slide tackled)

Owls match thread on 16:00 - Jul 11 by Gloucs_R | I don't think this is Warburton. This is a serious lack of funding and relying on League 2 standard u23s. We have no leadership on the pitch, no bite, no nastiness, no getting in their faces, no getting at the ref, no strikers and no desire. Let's be honest, a number of these players couldn't cut it in League 1 at the moment. It's ok blooding 1 or2 in an experienced team, but trying to blood 4 or5 is just asking for trouble. |
I've seen more passion and quality at U23 level.
