I dare say everybody is looking at him, them included. I'm starting to think we'll do well to get that for him after all of this but the news he has two years left on his deal is encouraging.

I do hate those fcking clickbait stories that are basically 'a thing has happened' (or in this case not happened), here's what a load of Twitter gobshts have said about it. Having clicked it I did agree with the first comment though - West Ham hand astronomical transfer fees and wages to weird and wonderful players from all over the world so why so reticent to do the same for a Greenwich lad who plays at the other end of the Hammersmith and City line? If they want him they can pay accordingly.

The way your post read was that they are fuming with the club trying to sign him, quite the opposite from that link...Fans want him

Anyone but them, please, anyone.
I have to travel up on the tube from Pitsea to Stratford when they are at home and I couldn't stand listening to them saying what a great signing.
Fed up with giving them our best.

It's being so happy that keeps me going.

It is all made of nothing.

Throwaway line: "Newcastle and West Ham scouts have also identified him as a target but his price tag could prove to be a stumbling block." = WHU twitter account picks out line restated as hot insider lead = WHU apes bash keyboards = WHU news site collects reactions = aggregated in QPR NewsNow (I'm assuming) = QPR board talking point.

Also they literally just paid that much for Jarrod Bowen anyway so WHU are actually currently one of the few clubs that can be said to have taken a serious plunge on homegrown lower league etc.

I thought the same but seeing Chelsea spending 53 million this week and Man Utd linked to an 80million move for Grealish maybe the transfer market will still be as mad as ever.

Would be pretty sick if so. But good news for us.
Clocked yesterday that even though Bright is OOC next summer he's still 24 or under so we would get some comp, not a total free transfer, should it come to that.

Agree about them in particular but it's going to leave a bad taste seeing him at any of the midtable sides. Palace I expect.

Hoping Arsenal come to their senses and see he's a perfect replacement for Ozil. That would be a lovely story for the lad having been rejected there once. More likely they will spend their money abroad unnecessarily though (or go 4-3-3 instead like everyone else).

please not West Ham.
Leicester is the place for him. Let Man U spunk £75m on him, then they can have Eze for £20m, and let him have three years under Brendan - perfect for all.
Or Liverpool. Then it's £35m.

Bare bones.

I really think Eze would improve the squads of all but the top 2, but god I hope he steers clear of West Ham and Newcastle. Toxic support bases at the moment, with supremely negative managers. Hard to imagine Eze flourishing in Steve Bruce's 5-4-1 formation.

The loss on match day income/STs rebates is a drop in the ocean compared to assurances of TV money that Premier League clubs recently got, so expect them to continue obscene levels of spending.

Much prefer Eze to Maddison already personally.

I wouldn't have minded Newcastle once but their fans on social media about this whole blood money takeover recently have been absolutely disgusting. Fck em all.

True, either Ferdinand or Ramsey mentioned this on the podcast this week.

Poll: Player of the Year (so far)

Wet Spam fans fuming over Eze apparently on 22:01 - Jun 9 with 6465 viewsbarbicanranger

Based on recent podcasts / interviews, it's mad to think that Eze was a talent somewhat drifting in the football world and Ramsey, P Hall and Impey took him, pushed and developed him in to this player. The stint under Wild Thing at Wycombe also sound like a huge period for his development. If he goes, I hope its to the right club for his development and the right price for us but either way it's great that we are now producing this kind of talent as a club, the transfer fee could be huge for our financial position.

Wouldn’t do any deal unless it’s 20mil +, can’t stand the hammers chairman gold & his side kick can’t think of his name, after what he said about Austin when they was after him, fcuk them

I think we should keep him until his contract runs out and then sign him ourselves for £20 million and then send that to the good folk at FFP. Their's brains would explode.

Never knowingly right.

West Ham always underbid for players so when their fans complain about lack of decent transfers they can point to who they tried to sign.

Oh, if it was just loadsamoney w4nker stuff I wouldn't have bat an eye.

As with City, their online support have become raving mad conspiracy loons for whom any query about widespread sustained human rights abuses only pertain to people being jealous, the elite being threatened, and journalists being puppets of Qatar:

This was written in April and it only got worse after that. Take a look at the responses to this for instance.

You'd like to think we'd act differently in the same position...

Not intending to derail the thread but, Independent journalist Miguel Delaney has been vocally against the takeover on sportswashing grounds. This article today a good example. https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/sportswashing-newcas

I think he is absolutely right and it's important that this is being scrutinised. His twitter, though, is full of very angry Newcastle fans. Pesumably they are unaware of the irony of arguing again sportswashing being a thing while all sporting Saudi Arabia flags in their twitter names.

Loves baiting this bear does Migs. Not wrong mind.

I'd be pretty shocked if the whole thing went through though anyway. Not because of anyone showing some moral backbone but because state actor rights piracy poses an existential threat to the PL cash cow.
