Waqar for me as well

Viv was a total legend of cricket and the fact that we signed him was incredible but Waqar was amazing in that championship season

Also would have had Ravi Shastri in the top 4 ahead of Michael Kasprowicz...

or even Javed Miandad?

Viv Richards played for Glamorgan. Given that fact, I’m not sure why a vote is even necessary.

Waqar was with Glamorgan 1 season (although it was exceptional) Javed contributed far more during his time with the County - however Viv Richards was the best wherever he played!!!

Best overseas player to play for Glamorgan or the overseas player to play the best for Glamorgan?

or even Javed Miandad?

Absolutely!

In fact there are quite a few more I'd have had instead of Michael Kasprowicz to be honest.

Winston Davis
Ezra Mosley
Matthew Elliott...
To name but a few

before I saw the options my immediate reaction was Miandad.

Viv was right at the end of his career. let the summerset carrot crunchers vote for him Waquar was devastating but only one season. Javed was here when the team was poor.

So I voted for Khan

Majid Khan .

There's so many to mention ... but if it's out those 4 then it has to be "Majid Khan."
I'll never forget his whirlwind 147 in approx 90 mins for Pakistan against Glamorgan in 1967.

Wilf Wooler witnessed the carnage and immediately contacted Majid's father - a mate from university, and Majid signed the following season.

If you had the complete list of Glamorgan overseas players, then my vote would be for ...

"Tony Cordle" ...

Glamorgan's first ever overseas fast bowler, who spent over 20 years as a player and coach and was a vital player in the 1969 Championship winning side.

Everyday above ground ... Is a good day! 😎

There have been some greats. As said on here, the question is whether you are looking at the contribution to Glamorgan or a player's overall ability in their career. Combining the both, then it has to be Majid Khan. He and Zaheer Abbas are the most elegant players that I have ever seen. Khan had so much time and he did a splendid job for Glamorgan. Younis and Richards did great things for the county but their time here was limited. Miandad was a great player but I think Sussex got the best of him.

I would also like to acknowledge the contributions of Roy Fredricks and Michael Hogan. The latter has carried a very limited attack for a while now.

Majid Khan .

During his time here Majid was the best batsman to represent Glamorgan by some distance.
For me Roy Fredericks, Viv Richards and Javed would all come a close second.

Majid for me. Viv's record here wasn't that great and Waqar was over a short period and won a few crucial matches. Majid's innings to win the championship in 1969 must have been fantastic. He scored 156 whilst other greats like Alan Jones only got 100 between them.
Apparently it was special according to his fellow players that day

.Glamorgan 1st innings
A Jones b Gifford 37
RC Davis retired hurt 2
Majid Khan c Headley b Gifford 156
*AR Lewis c Holder b Gifford 0
BA Davis c Holder b Gifford 9
PM Walker c & b Slade 27
+EW Jones c Ormrod b Gifford 16
MA Nash b Gifford 6
AE Cordle c Headley b Gifford 2
DJ Shepherd c & b Slade 3
OS Wheatley not out 2
Extras (lb 2, nb 3) 5
Total (all out, 85.2 overs) 265

Hit a huge six that smashed a pint glass on a table outside a beer tent on the rugby field boundary.

Superb knock. Elegance personified.

Javed’s double ton on a rough track against East and Ackfield was legendary.

https://www.theguardian.com/sport/blog/2011/jun/10/joy-of-six-cricket-forgotten-

I remember an innings at St. Helen’s where he apparently struggled against the spinners at the start of a big innings. Turned out he was deliberately pushing the ball into where a short leg and silly mid-on would have been to bring the field in. Needless to say he then cashed in...😂

Waqar, Viv, Elliot, Fredericks, Javed, Majid - hmmm, bloody tough one this...
