Scottish Rs (and hello) 12:24 - Oct 12 with 6923 views | Woog | Firstly, just to properly/formerly say 'Hello'. I should have done so a couple of months back when I stumbled into posting a few replies. A London native, supporting the Hoops since the mid 1970s, I was a regular standing in the home end and then a season ticket holder for many years in the SAR stand (still remember my seat, entrance J row R seat 163 in old money). Moved to Scotland (Central Belt, near Glasgow) with work and settled 20 years ago. I was just wondering how many Scottish-based Rs supporters are out there(?) Also, since I travel down to many of the away matches in the north of England (NW/Yorkshire/NE), who else travels down? Would be good to hook up, share journey, talk all things Rs, a few drinks (designated driver), etc.

I seem to remember I was taught in school (yes it was a very long time ago) that Hadrian's Wall was built entirely in England and never formed part of an Anglo-Scottish Border. Can that be correct?

Yes, constructed by geographically challenged Italians.

Er, actually they tried to build 2 walls. There was another one further north, the Antonine Wall. Romanes eunt domus. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

There’s not much left of the Antonine. When I first went through there the locals told me the materials used to construct were less substantial than Hadrians and it had just wasted away. Personally, given its location, I think they just couldn’t handle East Fife five Forfar four. [Post edited 15 Oct 2019 22:34]
