Could be a big advantage for Portsmouth in that they didn't play a game at the weekend, whereas we were subjected to one where we had to come from behind in intense heat. We will have to be on out toes and avoid mistakes as they will be eager for revenge.

I'm expecting Mlaker to get a chance and nick at least one of the goals.

They couldn't beat 9 men last week while 3-1 up. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
QPR v pompey match thread on 15:23 - Aug 27 with 4899 views | simmo | If he’s thinking of starting Saturday how we finished this weekend, with 2 strikers and 3 CB’s on, it’s likely we might see Masterson and Mlakar get minutes tomorrow. Not sure what else though… Scowen, Owens, BOS, Chair. I think we’ll see Eze, Lumley and Hall rested, beyond that could be a mix. -------------------Kelly-------------------- Kane-Leistner-Masterson-Manning -----------Scowen---Smith-------------- BOS--------------Chair-------------Pugh ----------------Malarkey----------------- Lumley, Rangel, Owens, Ball, Eze, Wells, Oteh

it's what I think rather than what I'd do - personally I'd start the game with the 352 style we played 2nd half Saturday and how we played against Bristol, with Chair up alongside the striker and Kane and Manning as proper wing-backs. It really looks to get the best out of quite a few players and stops the striker being isolated, although not sure what it would mean for BOS if we played Kane/Manning at wing back. Eze, Chair and Pugh can all play more central whereas I'm not sure BOS can. Less of an issue tomorrow I think, but interesting to see what he goes with in Sheffield.

I too like the look of this, Simmo. Although I would give Pugh a rest and play Wells - or Shodipo if we want a more natural winger. Did wonder whether he'll throw in Masterson from the start or stick with Barbet Think he may also keep Ball in the XI to build up his match fitness.

I've been wondering him about him, not having seen anything of him in person. Clive had a very encouraging sentence about him having the ball glued to his foot vs Brizzle, it'd be nice to know if he's got an eye for the goal.

Shodipo injured otherwise I'm sure we'd have seen more of him.

If he plays, that will be eight matches for him in August. I want him to play all season, not be shattered come November!

Barbet can play left back cant he? Frees up a space at CB for someone else although that then means he has played every game instead!

looks about right to me - Hugill will be on the bench instead of Oteh. 2-1 R's BOS and Chair.
