Last minute bids for Eze.......... 07:42 - Aug 6 with 7735 views | kingsburyR | As young master Eze has been splashed all over social media for his fine finish (all round good team goal) do we fear any last minute panic bids from lower prem/Championship teams i.e Leeds chasing a replacement for Roofe? Hopefully Thursday passes without too much disruption to the team apart from that last in Warburton wants and the one or two he'd still like to off-load!
| Dont know why we bother. .... but we do! |

Even if it was true, which it's obviously not, why the rush to run down a young player who we own? We're meant to be fattening this pig for market, not repeatedly going on about how sht it is.
Last minute bids for Eze.......... on 08:38 - Aug 6 with 5720 views | terryb | It was still being said at Stoke from somebody just behind me. "He's our worst player. Lazy & useless." Probably the same prick who sat behind me at Ipswich last season and coated him off for the full 90 minutes of a 2-0 away win, stopping only to take a volley of shut the fck up when Eze chipped the keeper and pinged one off the bar from 20 yards.

when I was in my early teens fans used to slag off Mickey Leach, so being a naive little prik I kind of mimicked them for a bit until I worked out that it wasnt his footballing abilities that were in question but that he had a surname the same as a blood sucking parasitic worm

Appreciate the financial issue but it may be a big mistake for him and us if he moves now. For him, he has worked under three permanent and one temporary manager in the last eighteen months and has, I presume, had different messages at different times about what he is expected to do. He has a chance this season to get a consistent message from Warburton, playing a key role in an attacking team and having a decent centre forward to play off. Where will he go that he will get a better opportunity? If he leaves us for a bigger club he is probably going to spend a lot of time on the bench. For us, if he goes now he will go cheaply. If we keep him and he performs consistently he will be worth a lot more in twelve or maybe even six months time, if we are desperate for the money.

Totally agree, The Seagulls have just paid around 20 million for Neal Maupay from Brentford and he is only 22 years old. If Eze has a consistent goal scoring season thats the sort of money we should be looking to get and he would be cheap at that price. He needs all the support we can give him this season, for his benefit and the clubs.

But then West Brom only paid £3m for Sawyers, a much more similar player, from the same club. It'll come down to goals. If Eze can get into double figures this season we'll get big money for him.

I go to football to see moments of unusually skilled exciting players like Eze not to see us merely just survive in 16th. Never mind getting solvent for FFP I'd prefer the joy of seeing him play than just use him as a pig fattening to be ready for market. [Post edited 6 Aug 2019 11:39]

how many full 90 minutes did he complete since 01.01.19 ? I seem to remember he spent most of his time on the bench

This. Maddison, Brooks, Sawyers and Eze are all similar - all are young and coachable with good attitudes, so the difference seems to me to be end product and potential. - Maddison had both (14 goals and double figure assists in his last season with Norwich I think it was?), played for England U21’s and was also technically proficient enough to be a set piece specialist. He’s also English which adds a premium, so he went for about the maximum you can get - £20m. - Brooks had a lot of potential but wasn’t quite a 1st team choice and had an injury or two, so went for a slightly inflated £11m and subsequently made the step up quicker than people expected. There was a lot of hype around him even before he made many 1st team appearances and they didn’t need to sell, which helped Sheff U. - Sawyers got some assists last season (roughly 7 according to the interwebs) but did he score many / any? Not sure if he did… He also wanted to go ‘home’ to WBA and had a year left I believe, hence the £3m If Eze gets 10+ goals and some assists, remains injury-free and shows he’s capable of carrying this team occasionally, I reckon we could get £12-£15m for him. The hype in the football world about him is good, you hear pundits and studio people mentioning him even when they clearly don’t know much about QPR generally. He’s also going to have glowing references from respected youth coaches like Chris Ramsey, which carries a lot of weight for buying clubs. Fingers crossed he really goes up a gear this season and adds end product to his game — a more attacking remit and encouragement to take people on / shoot regularly will be a good start!

Mclaren played him into the ground before Christmas then did the same to Freeman at the end .
Last minute bids for Eze.......... on 12:29 - Aug 6 with 4679 views | numptydumpty | I hope he can kick on. He had a very good early game at home to wigan - several excellent shots and one goal but sadly that was the high point last year But no doubting his talent and lets hope with a slightly more experienced head on his shoulders - he can consistently play to the level he is capable of. Yes I had an embarrassing fan complaining he was fat, lazy and useless - I turned round expecting to see some kind of adonis type figure and the guy was certainly a heck of a lot bigger then our friend mr eze... Unfortunately like all clubs we seem to attract complete plums that moan about others failings which if they looked back at themsleves at these ages - they realise guys like ebere are inspirational as opposed to defective role models. He does appear to have natural skill and talent but this is not simply god given - eze must have consistently worked at this for many years... Some of our fans are an embarrassment though yes - tend to agree.... I was thinking along lines of op but I cant see him leaving this transfer window - maybe the next one and sadly if things go reasonably well - I doubt he be here next season !!

Last minute bids for Eze.......... on 12:33 - Aug 6 with 4651 views | robith | The fact is that Eze is The One - the one we can really develop and sell on for proper proper money. I presume the fact that we are trying to spend actual money on that Aberdeen lad means we're FFP compliant as no way Hoos would sanction it if not, meaning we don't have to sell him. I also think Warburton is going to be great for him. A manager who loves 10s and young talent, I'm very excited about what he can potentially achieve this season

Yes but we fans were insistent that we had to play our best team in every game, including the cup matches. That's not normally a problem but - gasp - we had a "cup run" last season. I had to use a search engine to find out what a "cup run" is.

I am a dissenter from that view . I tend to keep a bit quiet before Cup games. Both domestic Cups have been devalued IMO . its the league (whatever division) for me .

Last minute bids for Eze.......... on 12:47 - Aug 6 by Russian__Bot | Agree. My pop psychology about the people moaning at Eze is that they are to a man nothing more than average. No talent, intelligence, athletic ability of any note. Physically not attractive 5/10 at best in all areas of their life. They make up for this by what they perceive to be as working hard and doing the right thing It's this frustration that there are people out there with effortless talent that annoys them and why they will delight in criticism of someone like Eze but won't utter a word against someone who try's hard but isnt very good like Scowen |
some fans genuinely can't stand flair players. It's as simple as that. Whether it's jealousy or what, I don't know, but it's like less-technically skilled players get a pass for not being more technically-skilled, but flair players don't get a pass for not running about like nutcases all game, flying into challenges and getting booked every match.
