Franchise Match Fred on 18:01 - Jan 6 by nix | Not making excuses. We should have won. We had enough chances. But MK Dons played a clever game right from the outset. They were wasting time from the first minute. When we were building any momentum they slowed it down with a feigned injury, a free kick or a substitution. It’s something we need to deal with because it’s what struggling teams do in the league too. But also we missed too many sitters. Back to the drawing board. |
Thanks Nix, Just got a message from a friend who was also at it saying almost the same things as you.

Franchise Match Fred on 18:42 - Jan 6 with 1465 views | Esox_Lucius | Just back in Banbury now and not much more to add to the comment about the timewasting from the 6th minute on and feigning injury any time QPR built up any momentum. Ref fell for hook, line & sinker every time; the linesmen were no better. There was an instance in the first half where Smith was having his face pulled by the mouth & cheek almost in front of the linesman and a reasonable distance to he ref... that's right, not a sniff of a foul being given. Bar Cousins who should have been hauled off after 10 minutes for phoning it in, or better still Wszolek should have started the game as we instantly had a threat on our right side once he joined the fray, the rest of the payers were putting in a performance. Thank God it was Scowen who made their goal one of his increasing amounts of errors these days and not Ned as he would have been crucified for it. It was right in front of me and I can still see no rhyme or reason as to why he should try to prevent a thrown in to them on the half way line and instead turn the ball into the feet of their scorer with only one other defender back. I'm also glad it wasn't one of the youngsters as it may have caused their early demise from the side. IMO Chair should have been left on as he was proving very tricky ad I would have hooked Smith who was having a bit of a mare today and was mostly ineffective against their two big CB's. Robinson & Hall both payed well today and the next strata of praise should probably be gifted to Chair, Smyth & Eze who not only didn't look out of place but showed a lot of guile and inventiveness. A 6.5/ 10 Team performance from me. Not a fan of IH but there wa nothing today there to call him out on other than persisting with Cousins once it was obvious that he wasn't interested in the least; definitely a player I would like to see depart.

This is a worry Burton play with two proper lumps at the back. I think Ollie will try to match them up with Big Posh Matt. If so we are done for - it's meat and drink for them; better for pace and trickery around them.... ohhh... hang on. I may stay in the brewery next week!
