3-2 and on the front foot for periods isn't a bad effort considering how depleted the side is. Not much in it. One thing this season is that we are a lot more confident and positive as a side than we were last season. Boro for me are automatic promotion candidates so to push them that hard at their's isn't a bad effort at all. |  |

Can't complain with the result but what message is Holloway sending out to the young defenders by not putting one of them on the bench? It would be good match day experience for them. Instead he's tries to sign a past it Clint Hill. No point having an under 23's if you aren't going to give them a chance. Instead the useless Yeni is back. Hasn't been featuring for under 23's so probably nowhere near match fit but preferred to to our youngsters who have been performing vey well this season. Poor management for me. | | | |

Thought the team played well, missed scowen today. Makeshift defence was always going to struggle. Defenders were outjumped for their two headed goals. The big defender from the under 23s would've added some height. Refreshing to see Holloway attack away from home. [Post edited 16 Sep 2017 17:42]

Not a hater at all I'm just being honest. We are awful. The possession stats really don't lie.
Yes we scored two but wait until you see them - they were fluke ricochets and chase downs. No team play at all and they bear no relation to the performance.
The defence did well considering, particularly Robinson at centre half. Furlong had a very tough time, his positional play needs a lot of work.
Ahead of them it was very poor indeed. Just could not keep the ball at all. Players hesitating, tripping over the ball and running into each other. No one looking up and dictating play. It took us until the 80th minute to get any kind of rhythm going - more than four passes in a row.
Smith then Sylla were absent and lazy. Sylla in particular looks like he's fed up with never starting and his body language is all wrong. He'll leave in the window I'm sure. It's a shame as I think he's the best striker at the club.

Your take on it seems very pessimistic IMO considering the injury situation , the gulf in finances and transfer activity and the fact that we were away .
It sounds like we gave it a real go and were in the game right til the end ?

Goals are goals were you expecting Messi wonder goals from us.

My husband went and said he was proud of them and they deserved a point. And he's as far from a happy clapper as you can get.
I'm loving the fact that we didn't capitulate, scored two goals when no one else has up there this season, put a valiant effort when we really are at bare bones in defence. I agree it wouldn't be a good idea to put the young guys in as they'd get slaughtered for any mistakes. |  | | |
