I think we'll see the 'regular' starting line up of the past few games, with Routs, Llorente and Siggy as the front three.
He's probably thinking Narsingh to replace Routs after an hour, and Ayew to replace Llorente with ten/fifteen mins to go. |
Completely agree here. As much as I want to see Ayew replace Routledge long-term, which I think will happen sooner than later, I believe Clement will understandably take it slow and stick with what's working, at least while it's working. And right now, it is.
Having said that, Ayew offers the same fight and workrate as Routledge, and actually adds a legitimate threat in attack. I know Clement is aware of this and I have faith he will be proactive. I would be really surprised (and disappointed) if Jordan was not starting in a few weeks. [Post edited 10 Feb 2017 14:38]

Line up wont change. It's working well to what exactly PC wants from the boys at the moment. Narsingh is an impact sub. I can't see Ayew starting games until we're safe or a couple more points adrift (should that be the case) why change what's working already? and depsite most peoples criticisms of Routledge his defensive work in front of a subpar Naughton is really good. He helps a lot. I wouldn't let Narsingh lose in front of KN in a must win game, especially after against Southampton it was evident Narsingh's defensive work isn't the best & why would he even consider putting Siggy on the bench? Siggy and Routledge defend and go forward well. PC is more concerned with defending first than WR's "limitations" Do watch/understand the games? Bench Siggy for Narsingh f*cking hell. When all of those players were bought there were posters here who said that these were all Huw Jenkins' choices and had been foisted on Clement - I'm not having a pop at anyone because obviously we're on the outside looking in, but who do people think actually decided on these players? You would be correct, scouting and Jenkins, draw up the candidates. Clement had veto power. Each player brought in was an old Jenkins favorite but PC was happy with them.
I am praying that going forward Clement will be given full reign, as he seems very practical and wouldn't blow up our budget. At the very least, hopefully we'll see a role reversal with him and scouting (and Jenkins out). It's the only way we'll ever see any of his contacts in top-level football actually used and exploited to our benefit.
This was a good window for us, and that should be commended. But the dynamic behind the scenes still remains and players and agents are aware of that. Jenkins must go in order to get the necessary quality back in the squad, or, inevitably we will go down sometime in the near future. | | | |

The "department" is just a few of Jenkins' amigos and some guy with a Bond villain's name. Say it with me... LEADBETTER. I don't know about you but that just gave me the chills.
On a serious note, they do at least exist in title, even though they are only HJ's yes men. He is the brains behind everything at the club, for better and mostly worse, and that is an open secret to everyone in football.
He has become the cinder block dragging us down to the bottom of the ocean. And he makes £500k a year to do it. Unbelievable.
But Clement did have veto power in this window and he was satisfied with the recruits we brought in. He has included the three available so far in pivotal and productive roles and seems eager to add Ayew to that list. All four are inexpensive upgrades on what we had and he knows that.
I would assume we'll see more PC "targets" come summer, especially if we are able to stay up. If Jenkins were to leave, we'd be seeing a lot more, though. Fingers crossed that happens. | | | |

Thanks, I agree, as they've been statistically shown to be quite conducive to successful teamwork and cohesion. I can even go high and/or low if that's something you're into. You just have to ask.
And I agree about more choice. I would prefer the club treat Clement like a real PL manager and put him in charge of the purse strings. Seems a reasonable fella with some wonderful friends (and mentor) in the game, and deserves to be given a chance. He certainly couldn't do any worse than Jenkins and, unfortunately, that's where we're at right now. As long as he remains things will stay the same, as always. | | | |

swans have to play well, end of. leicester could throw 11 youth team players out there and it won't matter unless swans execute their game. i pay no mind to the injuries and the other team's schedule. we've seen this team capitulate against under strength teams. focus on swans, not on leicester. they aren't going to roll over no matter who they put out there. | | | |
