Match thread: Walsall on 00:06 - Jan 3 by R17ALE | I laughed at that too. 1. Walsall fans pair us up with big bury in a knee jerk way. 2. Even Walsall fans know big bury are splashing the cash for nowt. 3. He should have posted "as most teams in League One's wage budget is lower than what Bury pay out. Certainly Walsall and us. Bottom 4 budget. Arf!! |
Maybe they could auction off their pre match trackies.

Match thread: Walsall on 23:41 - Jan 2 by Shun | There are some exceptionally complimentary comments about us and Keith Hill on the Walsall message board. |
Indeed.......give us lots of Respect. There is a lot of anger at Whitney and his team selection though........great expectations have turned to gloom and they are moaning about falling attendances and a petering out season hereon.

Match thread: Walsall on 23:42 - Jan 2 by Sandyman | 45 points at just past the half way point in the season. This is twice as many points as the "19 games without a win" buckets, who's chur has said they will finish in the top 6 this term. |
Perhaps the chur means alphabetically?

A lot of nice stuff being said about us. But there's still an element of "little Rochdale" running throughout it, albeit in a far from offensive way. Had it been Bolton or Sheff United who had beaten them 2-0 yesterday, I don't think they'll have been beating themselves up quite as much and would have looked at footballing reasons for why they lost yesterday. I know this season isn't as good as last year for Walsall, but they've lost both their manager and top scorer since leading the division 12 months ago, and IMHO they've reverted to the normal position for Walsall. I'd have said their peers are Port Vale, Gillingham, Chesterfield, Swindon etc and they are more than holding their own with them. Obviously their supporters watched them much more than I do, but they're not in danger of a relegation battle and Whitney seems to be paying the price for Dean Smith's good work. They were 13th the season before last, so 14th now certainly shouldn't be sacking territory. And like I said, had it been Bolton or Sheff Utd, I doubt there would be the same calls to change the manager.

Pretty impressed with the poster predicting we'd win 2-0 and was 167 out on the crowd. I'd be on the Eurolottery if I was him while he's on a roll.
