I'd like to pose a serious question to the folk of PS. What would you do in this situation?
If you had a photo taken of you at the stadium and were unaware of this and it was posted on a football for site for people to ridicule, how would you feel? What would you do about it? Please bear in mind you are unable to enter the site due to being banned for spurious reasons. |
If there is any form of physical threat involved you should consider taking evidence in the form of a screen shot as a starter for ten; if it's stronger threats then consider reporting it. On the other hand if it's just mild ridicule then rise above it. |  |

What I don't understand is why you give them the oxygen of publicity by starting threads about them. It's obviously what they crave, so why pander to them?

The offence is created by section 5 of the Public Order Act 1986. Section 5(1) provides:

(a) uses threatening [or abusive] words or behaviour, or disorderly behaviour, or
(b) displays any writing, sign or other visible representation which is threatening [or abusive],
within the hearing or sight of a person likely to be caused harassment, alarm or distress thereby."
The words "or abusive" were substituted for the words ", abusive or insulting", in both places they occurred,[1] on 1 February 2014.[2]
