I'm a bit surprised that the Americans didn't make this happen even if he wasn't our most pressing requirement and arguably overpriced.
Signing Joe Allen so soon after completing the deal to purchase the shares would have gone a long way to curry favour with the supporters. They may have missed a trick there or maybe they couldn't give a flying f**k about currying favour with the supporters. |  |

I'm glad the owners didn't splash out 15 million for him.. 'investment' in footballing terms is a loan.. I don't fancy the Americans ploughing 15 million+ interest loans on us.. especially for goal shy, low assisting players like Joey..

Anyone who has any illusions that the American 'investors' and I use that term very loosely, are going to be splashing big bucks then they are badly mistaken.
These people are not the usual billionaire/oligarch investor who is playing real life fantasy football, they are businessmen, first and foremost, this was an investment acquisition on their part, I.e for their own pockets, and not our squad kitty. Our transfers will continue to be of the same ilk as they always has been, like it or not. We just need to accept it and move on, and we can forget Bony too. | | | |

Jack Cork is a very able defensive midfield player and if Ki rediscovers his form then we have just saved ourselves 13 million. Britton and Fer in reserve as well.
