Brentford playing some really good football. Why can't we do the same? This is the first time in a while I've been able to watch us play and I'm thoroughly depressed and what's on offer. I totally get that its all a work in progress but you could say the same of Brentford and they seem well up for this game more so than us.

Random notes on game so far:-

Rangers

1. Pressing by forward players is for show only, no pattern, teamwork, or intensity
2. We're playing a very high line at the back. It's working do far to a degree in that it's compressing the play but our centre-backs are slow so it's risky.
3. We're quite defensive in that our full-backs are staying at home and we're playing two defensive mids. We're giving up the ball and two-thirds of the pitch voluntarily. Presumablty the plan is to change that later on, but we're thirty minutes in and no sign yet. So when?
4. Green and Hill doing extremely well, Hall looking promising but a novice as yet.

Brentford

1. Very, very well set up
2. Playing with pace and fluidity
3. Only one good pass away from their first big chance.
