He should do what other ex-leaders do and shut up. He, alone, could quite possibly cause the party to split... which I think they will, anyway If Corbyn was gunning for a victory, there is nothing that helps the cause more than getting B'Liar to speak out for your opponents

No I never voted for him or his kind PP, I was aware of what they were about before they ever got in. To be honest I've never trusted any politician enough to vote for them, to me the whole thing's a bit of a stitch up. I guess Corbyn interests me in the same way that many people were excited by Nige's UKIP. In that we share a general awareness that mainstream politics does not reflect or represent us. I just think that it takes a lot more than merely stopping immigration to start to fix things.

No, I did not vote for him, not everyone who is a Labour supporter, supported him. Most Labour supporters were against going in to Iraq. [Post edited 30 Aug 2015 11:09]

Fair Do's Mr Hazel its funny how you compare Corbyn to Nige both are quite strong in there beliefs and both have the left and right chucking mud at them , both men have the different factions running scared , I suppose it makes a change than the normal cloned puppets of Cameron, Blair, Milliband , Clegg,

Absolutely PP. Now if we could all just get together and find out who is controlling those clones we could take the power back for ourselves and sort things out for everyone's benefit instead of following the programming to fight each other! Love is the key!

Blair V Corbyn on 13:42 - Aug 30 with 2565 views | PlanetHonneywood | I have long since given up on the political system, the self-serving parties that operate within it and the the many scumbags that run them. I would not trust any one of them to do the right thing. A former colleague of mine was elected to parliament in May. I will be interested to see whether he stays true to his views as time passes. I hasten to add, I am not on this person's political page, but a person of principle is better than some fop in it for the wrong reason. Time will tell of course whether he speaks his mind or toes the party line. This being said, if BoJo and JeCo become the leaders of their respective parties over the next couple of years, things could at least be colourful. I would think both of them would be at the head of the respective queues not under-estimating the other. JeCo will not get into No 10, as the right wing media/establishment would not allow it. If he did, not sure he would turn out to be the best man for the job. However, this is supposedly a democracy and Labour are merely showing what a shower of s..t we have avoided in the last election. We of course, have a different shower of s..t in power but if, as seems to be the case, the Labour election is being undermined with tactics to 'force' Burnham to be the winner, then we might as well pack up and go home.

Blair V Corbyn on 17:51 - Aug 30 with 2367 views | derbyhoop | For anybody who wants to see a democracy in this country the situation is thoroughly depressing. Democracy needs a robust opposition to stop the Government doing stupid things. Whether that is undeliverable claims on net migration (Cameron/May) or a growing NHS without the finances to support it (Milliband/Balls). Corbyn is a throw back to the conviction politicians that started the Labour movement. But, IMO, will not appeal to the vast majority of the electorate that he will need to convince. Labour may have to settle for attracting their core support (20% of the electorate, perhaps). The other 3 are almost identikit, grey political nonentities and don't inspire anybody to vote positively.

Blair V Corbyn on 21:00 - Aug 30 with 2230 views | Dorse | Blair is a busted flush. He's got nothing to add to the debate. As I've said before, I've got nothing riding on this either way but Corbyn has mobilised the voting public in a way that not even Princess Tony managed. The thing that bugs me is that the Labour Party is moaning because the wrong guy is winning. Corbyn had to cast around for enough people in the PLP to back his nomination! And suddenly, his campaign is steamrolling the opposition and they're all fcuking whinging. Well boo-fcuking-hoo. Whether Blair (Knut) likes it or not, Corbyn's policies have lit up young people in a way that no-one on the front benches have achieved in 20 years. New Labour? Get to fcuk.

Blair is a knob. That said under his leadership some really good things happened that often get overlooked. The bad really stuff - economic slump/ Iraq war would have happened under the Tories. The good stuff - minimum wage etc- may not have done. Shame there isn't really a leader who excites the party and has broad popular appeal with the country.

Blair V Corbyn on 12:56 - Aug 31 with 2035 views | MedwayR | As far as I can tell there is very little difference between Labour & Conservative, Labour is supposed to be left-wing but come across as Tory light, I can't recall much that they've done to suggest that they haven't abandoned their roots & I'm not surprised given that the majority of politicians seem to have very similar backgrounds regardless of their political party. The media who are very cosy with those in power have ramped up their attacks on Corbyn who is clearly a threat to 'the establishment' and their position of power, today he's being made out as some sort of supporter for Bin Laden which is way off the mark, his view was that no attempt was made to put Bin Laden on trial & the US simply assassinated him which surely goes against the beliefs of so-called democratic countries. Fair point imo. The political parties & establishment only care for themselves & their power, they've continually demonstrated that throughout history. They try to force capitalism upon everyone because the rich & powerful gain from capitalism and anyone that does things differently they try to disrupt and put an end to it (eg. communism) and only tolerate dictators if they can control them, they also try very hard to make strikes illegal & ruin any unions out there. Communism was a big threat to their power and has therefore been painted as a hugely evil concept through the media, surely the concept is for a fair society which has to be a good thing although in reality that is clearly unworkable. Democracy, such as it is, is currently the best of a bad bunch of options - shouldn't democracy give people more say than which bellend gets to run the country or 'represent' your local area, our opinions on NHS, schools etc are never considered we merely have to put up with what they decide. Corbyn is left-wing while they are right-wing, hence he gets cast as a villain. Corbyn may be a romantic idealist & probably naïve but I very much doubt he's a villain, we all know who the real villains are and the more they attack Corbyn the more likely he is to get support, it may well backfire on them because thus far no one has been able to put a sincere argument against his views.
