Don't know exactly what it was called but it was by the loftus roadrunners and had already been about prior to the final "follow me down to QPR"? Seems to be in my head, it wasn't the best

'We Are The Tottenham Haters' peaked at number 74. The B-side was 'My Old Man Said Be A Tottenham Fan' and featured a young Danny Maddix as mezzo soprano. How he hits that high C on 'Cuuuuuuuuunt', I'll never know.
'What do we want? We don't know! When do we want it? Now!'

Just seen top of the pops from 1982 on the TV tonight, just before the cup final replay....
Weirdly I did a Google search as to what our song was this year because we didn't feature in the top 20 but Tottenham did and my post from a few years ago came up!!

That was indeed the one used for 82 final. A masterpiece.
My God, I've not heard this in 30 odd years. It was always on the tannoy back in the late 80s, 90s when I got to the upper loft with my Dad about 2.15pm. I never knew it was from the 82 Cup Final. Thanks for posting.
Also saw the Top of the Pops tonight, come on Rangers u can beat Spurs this time!

Similar memories for me. Reminds me of going to games in the 80s with my dad...

im sure steve archibald holds a 'top of the pops pop pickers record' , in that he appeared on the same show 'singing' on two different tracks.
the 1982 spurs cup final record and the scotland 1982 word cup smash 'we have a dream'
i dont think even lennon and mccartney managed that .
dont touch that dial and hold tight for more poptastic facts playmates.
Disco, you are correct. I've checked and the 6th May edition indeed has the Spurs and Scotland squad on the same show.
Tony Burrows though had done it 12 years earlier by appearing singing lead with two different groups, Brotherhood of Man (Mk I) with 'United We Stand' and Edison Lighthouse 'Love Grows ( Where My Rosemary Goes)'

I think Robert Smith might have done it with The Cure and the Banshees , 1983ish as well
