BBC just announced he's leaving Liverpool - would you have him here?

MLS bound, so Man city probably!!!!

Why not short term? Can still pass, decent shot, would get stuck in/involved. Good enough for what we need now and would probably help bond team into more of a unit. If it were as simple as a vote then I'd be all for him joining.

Cuts a forlorn figure. A shadow of whatever it is he was.

Haven't we learned that a lot of very good players look very good because they are surrounded by other good players.

I've always been a big Gerrard fan but please no more of these sort of signings. Man city can do it with the likes of Lampard because they can use him sparingly but I don't think that would work with us. Look at Park and Rio

It's got to be Yarg

Hmmm.
Need a player like him in the Joey role. I use Joey as the example as Steve would essentially be taking Joeys place....

If it was for the rest of this season, yeah why not, going forward no.
Irrelevant anyway as he's MLS bound.
I'd prefer we start building a young spine if we can.
If you like bit like what Olly kind of had to do when he first became manager albeit with more resources to spend.

I think we have learned our lesson now. If a player of advancing years and declining ability is willing to join us, that ability has probably declined sufficiently to be of no use at this level. Either MLS or a nice comfortable retirement for him as a Liverpool legend (no-one up there ever seems to want to talk about that time he threw his toys out of the pram to try and force a move to C*****a)

Gerrard is probably the best midfielder of the last 15 years. I'd take him.

That said, his slip against Chelsea last season was second onto Bobby's goal for best things to happen that season.

Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. He runs like a cheetah, his crosses couldn't be sweeter. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore.

Gerrard would never in a million years come to us , if he did I would still take him over Barton, infact I would take Mike Fillery over Barton right now
been saying for ages the lad Ritchie at Bournemouth is the player we should be after or Lansbury at Forest
the type of midfielder's who can get box to box and chip in with the odd goal or two both are mid twenties and both would suit us down to the ground

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore

Spot on - Pick any one you like but Im pretty sure the wage demands alone are out of our league, if he goes anywhere its for the famous "one last big pay day" contract.

Surely we have learnt our lesson with Ferdinand, theres enough old legs in the team, who exactly would Gerrard pass to for a starters, don't see many of our lot making the fast runs into space or the channels.....

Oh Sh@t i have just seen the news!
Cue
The outpour of sympathy from the self pity city. We will have every ex player/manager/person from Liverpool saying what a legend he was. Every ground will be asked to have a minutes applause for the next year. The Prime Minister will need to sort an enquiry into why he wasn't offered a better contract. Every TV/radio station will have 24hr coverage of him coming and going to the ground until May. Every newspaper will have a 200 page pull out
I will be keeping away from all TV/Radio for the next week.
In fact i am going to the South Pole to avoid all the sentimentle boll@@@s.

Gerrard would be perfect for us, IMHO

1. He will only be 35 at the start of next season
2. He has plenty of pace still
3. He can play every game
4. He has always wanted to play for QPR and says it in most interviews

Five year contract and £70K a week plus add ons

No brainer.

Never knowingly right.

But is he writing a book? If not we'll need to send him on a creative writing course.
